Zumo Question?
« on: April 19, 2008, 06:38:19 PM »

I have the XM module connected and ordered the XM Radio/Nav Traffic w/ Basic Weather Package. Besides XM Radio, it comes with traffic, weather map, weather forecasts, and traffic map/report. That's $6.99 (under the family plan) for the XM Radio and $3.99 add'l for the Nav Traffic/Weather. What is the XM Weather? That's an additional $9.99/mo! :nixweiss:

How much better is that than the Nav Traffic? Is it really worth an extra $9/mo? :confused5:

Thanks Gang! :2vrolijk_21:

Hoist, the XM weather that you are going to get is weather for city by city. It is a feed from the National Weather Service something very similar to what we get on the NOAA channels (WB 1-8) now for free. Because they are only giving you an audible feed and no graphics, you will not be able to "see" weather that has happened or is coming. All is is going to be is forcasts that are read aloud from sources like the NWS. I believe for more detailed weather you would need NEXRAD Weather from XM. However you would need a unit capable of displaying the images along with the anntenna.
