Mounted the Deuce handlebars with new mirror, chrome levers and Roland Sands grips. I mounted the seat and tryed them out. Much better than the OEM buckhorns. Knuckles in the wind position I like. I still think I mount 4" straight risers to bring em back some more but much improved.

That's pretty much it for now. The Wood W6 will be installed next week. The painting may be done by the end of next week. Can't wait to get her home and the weather breaks. There only predicting 2 - 4 inches of snow tonight!
I had em take paint the oil tank while it was out also. And I brought home some more used parts for the garage.

I will do that Chip. I hope the next time the shop is a little less cramped so the photos come out better!

I would be more interested in some form of trade vs adoption. After all, you come with a Harley!

Can someone tell me a better way to handle the overflow tube off a S&S carb?

Jeff.....

Looking good.....nice very nice.......  :2vrolijk_21:

when you painted the engine did they "powder coat" it or something else?

So I notice the photos showing this work being done in what appears as a motorcycle shop.....so are you doing the work or having it done?

You know what's so awesome about what you are doing.....is you are taking something that you have some passion about and bringing it back how fun is that......I can think of very few models in the HD line up that create this sort of commitment vs simply selling and starting over........

So a W6 IN A older bike eh? ? ? ?   Are you going to put some SE heads on?

Hey Tim

Me with wrenches.... :o only on the most basic stuff. I'm great at kick in doors, set up a breach, etc. Fixin stuff is not my forte! I'm a change the oil and plugs guy.

The motor was painted. It came out great. They have a motor they painted 5 years ago still looking great.

I plan on staying with the stock heads, getting milled and a good valve job. Should fit the ticket. First I just want to get her back in the wind and reliable. My son's signed up for his motorcycle basic course so he'll be ready when she is. It's good to pass on my passion for riding to my kids. But it does make it necessary I get my bikes back from them.  :P

Did you notice I had em move the turn signals down to the trees. Going to try that look for now. Waiting on some chrome parts to come back, air brush design and button her up. Of course we just got 2 more inches of snow and it gusting at 25 - 30 mph so no hurry. I'm done with winter! >:( >:(

Went to the Harley shop with the intent on assisting in my rebuild as one of the tech's is at bike week making molla on the side. I had ordered a kit of polished stainless bolts for the rebuild. Well as this is an old scooter, the kit is no longer made, even though it is listed in their catalog. I forgot the name of the company but they check several other companies and the story is the same. So they will next day them to the shop but I can not be there.

We did start on installing the Wood W6 by putting on the original gear and placing it in the compartment. I'm not pretending to be a mechanic. I just listened and watched but not much was done without the bolts.
