new baisley oil by pass piston
« on: April 02, 2011, 09:22:31 PM »

Called Baisley performance, last week, they said they now carry their own  version of the oil by pass piston, It has a definite machined taper at the end to ensure it doesnt leak by oil as most stock ones do and its polished also to help it move  with less friction  in the bore,  and I had a lmr-2 spring already in , they recommended the lmr-4 spring, so  I got that to and tell you what  my top end is much quieter  even with the woods 400-6 cam  which i already  had the sound down pretty good is quieter

I would be curious to see the influence the added pressure will have on the tensioner life over time. It may be not effected but logic would dictate the added pressure will add to the volume of sump oil and put added pressure on the tensioner pads.
Dan is a sharp guy so I would think he thought about this during the R&D

Baisley modified by  pass valve 25.00

I thought of that to Don, I might want to use a lighter WT. oil this summer, I have a case of Redline 20/60 I was going to use, Might have to switch back to mobil1 15/50, we'll see
