Is that a fact backed up by valid information or just an opinion?
If presented as a fact I would like to see the data to back up that claim.

I believe the upforce issue has been wind tunnel tested by Klockwerks. The claim is that the fairing creates a negative downforce (lift) at higher speeds. Dont know how fairing lowers would work into the equasion.

Likely the whole bike will belong to the insurance company.  However, if he gets to it first and wants to sell the highway pegs and/or the XM module, I would be interested as well.

Exactly what I was thinking... they'd never know something was missing.

Is this information from the company that sells those aerodynamic winshields that look great but function poorly?
Most of the people I know have changed them to a CB or Clearview.
I struggle to believe their claims unless they can present facts.

There have been a number of cases, and some lawsuits about this issue. It's not new and apparently it's not resolved yet....

I read most of the link you gave.
Help me and point out where the 09 new frame has shown to have the same issues as the older style frame?
I don't see it,,,,,,,,,, can you show me a link that documents a wobble on an 09 FL frame.

Did someone call out the 09' frame? Did I miss something? I read back through the thread, I couldn't find where someone did. Maybe I missed it.  :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

Looks like the BSR floorboards and brackets are still good... think your buddy would sell them?

Glad he's ok., but I was thinking the same thing. :-\

When you  read the first post of this thread Ditch,,,,,,,,,,the bike that crashed is an 09 FL,,,,,,,,,and then everyone wants to jump on claim that even the 09's still have issues.

I missed or skimmed over the 09' part in the first post.... Sorry! I guess if a bike develops a speed wobble at 90-100 mph. It doesn't matter if the bike is an 89' or an 09'...... the speed wobble doesn't care.  :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: I'm just glad the guy was able to "limp" away! He had the angels working overtime that day!  ;D ;D ;D

SBB, I missed it as well............sorry 'bout the confusion. So how is it that this happened on the new frame? It's worrisome, but the horses are not all in the barn on this yet. It's obvous to most that HD full baggers are not designed to 100+MPH runs without some handling improvements, or more. I'm just glad the guy survived the thing.   :2vrolijk_21:

The left lower and horn cover still look good...how much does he want for'em?   ::) Obviously, I wouldn't joke if he'd been hurt or maimed someone.  :(

While they were running side by side at about 110 mph. One of them developed speed wobbles.

On a more serious note, I'm glad he came out of his "learning experience" fairly unscathed with only temporary reminders.

What makes me wonder is how did he develop the speed wobbles.  These new frames and tire package are supposed to be more stable than the older touring platforms which would speed wobble at the slightest surface crack on uneven pavement.  Worn Dunlaps would make it worse.  My 09 SERG is rock-solid in every sircumstance I've encountered so far.

If the tires weren't blown, did he check the pressure?  Did he have the rear shocks aired properly?  Was it windy?
