Title: FXR3 No Rear Brakes!!!
Post by: Sandmantx96 on May 29, 2012, 10:48:21 AM
Over this weekend I noticed my rear brakes were a little soft, now I can push the lever all the way till it stops and nothing. It returns to the up position but no stoping power. I'm sure i need to bleed the brakes but how likely is it that the master cylinder is shot? There is no fluid leaking anywhere that I have seen, no pudles...

Remove the cover check for fluid!! If no fluid it has escaped, maybe in minute amounts over time. Check all lines, brakeswitch, caliper (for enough pad too). Master can be rebuilt with a kit, as can the brake caliper.
Carefully check the brakeswitch, they've been known to fail, causing a leak. Rubber brake line can deteriorate over time and leak around connections.  FWIW  twinotter  ;D
