I don't have information on the actual spring rates, but the spring part numbers are different.  The 2011 eglide models use part number 46235-09, while the CVO eglides (Ultra & SG) use part number 48787-09.

Yea...instead of putting the $10 spring in, they put the $10.50 one in.

Cyril...if I had to guess, and it's only a guess, I'd say the difference would be the spring.  I doubt HD would go to the trouble to put a different weight fork oil in only the CVO forks, especially now that they all come off the same line.

You would think that they could tell the difference between a chrome lower and a silver one..........well this is HD we are talking about :huepfenlol2:

I think you will find that the fork assemblies are shipped from their supplier already assembled and filled with oil.  Harley just takes them from the shipping containers and hangs them on the bikes.

My reply from Progressive is that SE fork springs are 1`` shorter than stock springs , that would account for a harder ride.

That is NOT true across all SE CVO models...no if's, and's or but's.  Somebody at Progressive is misinformed.

If you are talking about your SE Road Glide Ultra, I can absolutely assure you that it is supposed to be full height suspension from the factory.  I don't know why the part number is different, but it's not because it's a shorter spring.  Your rear shocks are 13" shocks stock...they are not going to lower the front end only on a bike from the factory...at least not on purpose.
