ME 888's anybody using them?
« on: August 10, 2013, 08:11:38 PM »

Getting ready to replace the tires on my wife's bike. I would apprecate any thoughts that those of you have on the ME 888's, pretty clear that is what I am considering at this point.

I just mounted a set on my SEEG and like them very much so far.  Was running the 880's with success, but looking for more mileage out of the 888's.  Time will tell.

Well timed question, looking to go to the 888 in the very near future. The 880 over anything else in the last 80k miles for me and the 888 is rated higher. But would like to see some real world reviews first.

I just put a set on me ultra classic.  I like the feel of them and ride better than the dunlops.  Only thing i noticed is that i have road noise from them.  Never had that from a motorcycle tire before.  I have run the 880's on all my other bikes.  never had any problems but once on my rear on the softail.  if started cupping and bubbled with only a couple thousand miles.  Some tires are made in brazil and some in germany.  Quite a few people say stay away from the brazil ones that aren't made as well but not sure.

Anyway to tell where they are made at, prior to purchase?

I would guess only way is if you do it online would have to call and specify and make sure they chit the germany ones.  Other than that probably a crap shoot.  Most likely get the brazil ones.  All i have gotten the last couple years.
