Title: My new '15 SESG
Post by: dooinit2u on April 07, 2015, 05:31:07 PM
Well, I bit the bullet, and traded my possessions in for a 2015 SESG in UV Blue/ Molten Lava. Kinda felt like I sold my soul cause I had my other rides for so long and we've been so many places together.

But, today begins a new chapter in our CVO life with a new SG. Added a few options that will take some time to recieve and install, like a Matching King TP, Exhaust, and Handlebars.

Did a lil 80 mile jaunt today, and I'm glad I didn't settle for the Limited a couple months ago. This SG is a lil firmer, which I like and has a few more styling cues that appeal to me, (i.e. 19/18 wheel combo, color graphics, stereo...WOW), and some other styling cues that a SG has that a Ltd doesn't. And with the addition of a TP, I'll be bretty damn close.

Heated seats and grips were nice, but down here, a good pair of gloves and chaps will do the trick in the colder months.

I loved my SERG and my SEUC, but after riding this new technology, It swayed me back to the Batwing, plus trading 2 for 1 put me in with alot of equity, which afforded ALL the upgrades I wanted at one time...

And here we are, posing for our 1st pic together...

CONGRATS!! Your pix isn't showing up. I know one of the things you didn't like on the Limited was the rear brake pedal position. Looks like some members have found a nice solution to that. I may look into it myself.

Uploaded to Photobucket and moved files, but its fixed now Mike...

Congratulations, Paul!  Mod on!

Thanks to Greg and his insight, The web page is back up, but I would like some feedback from someone with big feet like me to see if you have to go too "deep" in lower to get full functionality on the rear brake.

Congrats.

I trust the two of you have many miles and smiles ahead of you!

I hope So Jock. Always a day late and a dollar short on the new rides. Guess they gotta grow on me.

It really comes alive in person under the sun... man that color pops... I was cooking for our local chapter poker run and the sales manager parked it outside for me to look at all day, and that did the trick...

Congrats on the new scoot. I know that feeling of not wanting to let go.

I'm still doubting the decision to let go of 2 CVO's, but every time I ride the new one, I understand my logic...

Congrats on the new CVO, that color is outstanding! I traded my '11 RKC for the black carbon two weeks ago, I know the separation anxiety feeling well, but trust me...that new bike is the cure.

Doing that initial cleaning and applying that 1st coat of Royal Blue.

Gotta get it slick.... Damn that bike looks good, and so far no paint issues found.

Thats the best Ive tried so far, and some of the cleanest rides on this site uses Royal Blue also.

The sun did it to me too. I had a deposit on a HC, and rode my older SG to Street Vibrations. There it was in the sun... the UV Blue and Lava!! Talked with the owner a bit, and called my sales manager on the spot and told him to change me to this color!!

Very nice, Paul.  That's the color I really would like to see in person....congrats on the new ride

Haird I'm afraid if you see it outside in person you will be done for!  ;D

Yea but that is you JSwerve. You are still head over heels in love with yours. I think if yours barfed up oil on you, you would simply pat it on the seat a few times and burp it like a baby. Haird on the other hand has this little voice telling him " don't go look at that bike!" Those Ruby Red bikes are nice though without a doubt.

Well, here is the upgrades so far... For some reason the flourescent light in garage does nothing for the color...

Fuel Moto XXX head pipe, Full size Xover and Jackpot mufflers... LA Chopper Twin Peak's 10" bars (very comfy) and a King TP with Wrap around back for the BSR...

Now I have to remove the Fairing mirrors cause they are unuseable and install my other mirrors on handlebars.

Please post a video!  I almost went with that set up for exhaust, but I chickened out and went with what I've heard.

Alright Paul. What's the scoop on the rear passenger boards and highway pegs? Are those the adjustable floorboard mounts or fixed? Where'd the pegs come from?

Being as the SG didn't come with floorboards at all, I opted for the non'adjustable mounts so I can use the HD Swing pegs... They are the stock pegs from a regular SG in chrome...

Had adjustable on the SEUC but never adjusted, stayed in same location. These are less bulky and still do the job...

My wife swears by them and I'm still waiting to find the passenger boards for ours so I can mount the BSR Highway pegs as I call them.  :2vrolijk_21:

A few new upgrades to the SESG.

After noticing that all I could see in the SG Fairing mirrors were my paws, I had to make a lil change. Bought the flat black HD plugs, removed fairing mounted mirrors and installed my HD Script mirrors on bars. Now I can see.

(http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv171/dooinit2u/2015%20SESG/DSCN1977.jpg) (http://s681.photobucket.com/user/dooinit2u/media/2015%20SESG/DSCN1977.jpg.html)

...then I had to cover the front docking hardware. Looks alot cleaned with the magnetic chrome covers on the front pins. Also opted for the chrome locking hardware for the TP mount.

A better view of the matching Pass Boards and Harley Slut pegs... BSR loves the new seat and leg position while riding. Didn't do the adjustable brackets, just the chrome version on the SG Special.

(http://i681.photobucket.com/albums/vv171/dooinit2u/2015%20SESG/DSCN1975.jpg) (http://s681.photobucket.com/user/dooinit2u/media/2015%20SESG/DSCN1975.jpg.html)

Had to adjust the heat shields after my dealer installed the FuelMoto headpipe, They said "it was the best they could do"...well, it wasn'tmy best... Gotta be right to show up at a CVO event, JS.

The rest of pics are just from a very proud CVO owner... Man this bike is awesome.
The wheel combo,19/18, the matching TP, the stereo, the new bars, the exhaust sound, the color, etc... Not feeling too bad about trading the others in now...

And we can see you, too.... :2vrolijk_21:

All great mods and in my best cajun "dat sho B 1 purdy scooder".  I'm still waiting to see one of these in person AND in the sunshine.  Thanks for the pics, Paul.  Looking forward to seeing it at the next GTG.

Photos look great of the modifications!

Now that you no longer need the stock mirrors, you could have them removed and install some extra speakers - Why not lol!

They are stock HD mirrors I had on my Ultra... I just put the Rumble Collection mirror back on the SEUC when I traded in...

Hmm. They look nice. The stems would match I think and they seem low profile. If you stumble across the part numbers...

They are the non-adjustable bracket for floorboards. CVO Floor Pans and Inserts w/ Harley adjustable swing pegs...

With the CVO adjustable floorboard mounts, the only swing pegs that would mount to them was the Kury. They didn't last on my '10, So we trying the HD brand. The HD only fit on the Stationary bracket.

The BSR likes the extra height of the HD swing pegs... Also have the CVO collection pegs on the swing pegs. A little more surface for her to rest her foot.

Thats a long ride Jock... Maybe one day I'll get to a West Coast GTG...

My salesman and I were talking about you the other day. The dealership had never seen a bike like yours in person, only on the web. Funny they went through all the colors but that one... So I pulled a p[ic from MV last year and they loved it...
