Title: Oil leak from rear cylinder on 117 CVO Pro street breakout 2017
Post by: Paddy on May 09, 2021, 11:45:32 AM
Hi Guys, don't know if this has been discussed already but have a 2017 CVO Pro street breakout with the 117 conversion and she has a oil leak on the rear cylinder. not so much a leak as a seep. It started 800 miles in and a new gasket etc was fitted at HD on its 1000 service. 5000 miles now and has started to seep again at same place. any ideas. thanks in advance. Paddy

You still have orings sealing the base and over the years the have proven to be reliable. Did they replace the orings? The cylinder needs to be pulled to accommodate that. If they did then they must warrant the job. Sometimes a case leak at the joint presents the same, worth a close cleaning and check

I had the same thing on 2012 & the dealer ended up replacing the rear cyl. I think (not positive ) that the sleeve had moved downward I think & not letting it seal. This was after 2 attempts within 2 weeks
