Kng103,

I have to disagree with you here.   I had the Barnet Scorpion and well I wouldnt buy another one.   I would however definately recommend the Rivera Pro Clutch.   It held up with no issues on my 124 and never once gave me even a lick of trouble.

Just my 2 cents from having owned both recently.   I still own the Pro Clutch and it sits waiting for a new body where I will put my 124 and other accessories.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, Tony,
Primo Rivera in mine, as recommended by my Engine Builder.  No Worries.  What 120 kit are you going to use?  Please advise.  Later--HUBBARD

If you are going to put some serious H/P to the rear wheel the only one that works is A BANDIT CLUTCH!!!!! Rivera and Barnet are good LOW HORSEPOWER clutches for you guys running on the street! Stay safe.

DCFireman,

Dunno bout you, but when you hit a 140 hp / 140 ft torque like i have in my 124 I do not consider that to be  low end horsepower.   My Rivera Pro Clutch has never done anything other than work flawlessly.   I have friends running them in 175 hp motors too with no issues so I cant agree with you on low end power statement.  I personally havent tried the bandit, but until my Rivera breaks or does something way out of the ordinary I won't be changing mine or my recommendation.   I can tell you I am pretty rough on the toys too so its not like its been babied either.

I can say again Barnett is a POS from my experience with it.  (piece of dung)= POS

Unbalanced I was just pulling on Hubbards leg. I do know of a 240h/p fat boy the has a Bandit though. I know the Rivera will hold up I ran one in my last evo. You are the first one who I have heard complain about the Barnett. Stay safe.

The cheap way out is to add barnett Clutch Spring Conversion Kit SR-4 (about $100) and then add a 9th friction plate and steel (about $20 from dealer) this is a race proven combo must be in a late model clutch basket like your stock one. I know someone using that combo with in excess of 175HP with no problems!!! [smiley=oops.gif]

Ofender,

I have seen this method used for racing, but my question is for road cruising as the clutch baskets show a lot of the chatter wear and grooving on the basket itself when used for racing I cant imagine it being good on the road.    Where I agree its works for guys at the track I am not sure its application on the road for someone looking at 2 to 5 hours in the saddle and in traffic.   Curious to know if you have seen anyone else try this for street use and not race use and what the basket looks like even after just 5k miles.

Thanks,

Unbalanced

O' Fender,

I like that! .... "A penny saved is a penny earned"

My mind is working around trialing the stock clutch for a few hundred miles. If I feel any slip I will try out your suggestion.

Many thanks for your tip and to all others who have contributed (inc. MFG by e-mail)

You can run 120/120 with the stock clutch and the VP92T. Most importantly the lever effort will be the same as stock, actually 5% less.
You can e mail me for further data.

Okay - Is the Rivera Pro clutch compatible with the HD Hydraulic set up?  Barnett offers a Scorpion with a specific application for the HD hydraulic.  Called Barnett and was told the "regular" Scorpion will not work.  Difference in the two is the pressure plate. By the way, does Barnett make the Screamin' Eagle for HD - they look very similar and the SE also states it's not compatible with hydraulic.  Anybody got a Rivera or Barnett set up w/ the HD hydraulic? - PJ

Yeah, 'er 'uh, Lord Tony,
Sorry I didn't respond in a more timely fashion, Bloke!  You asked for my advice, which is quite flattering, actually, and here you have it, based on my personal experience.  (1)  24 Tooth Engine Sprocket  (2)  37 Tooth Clutch Hub Sprocket  (3)  HD 6-speed gear set (use your case)  (4)  Belt for FLHTCUI w/Sidecar  (5)  SE Race Clutch Kit Part#37970-03  Again, just my opinion.  I would go ahead and punch it out to it's capacity, if it were mine, so it would run like it's @$$ was on fire!  But that's me. You do as you please!  Later--HUBBARD

Not enough compression for a tw8g......Give Bob Wood a call ...I bet he says at least 10.5:1  The tw8g is weaker down low than the 6gh even with enough compression. The 6hg (mentioned in your other post ) will hit hard at 2500 and pull to 6000.....if you can tolerate the noise.  PM HIPPO about your cam choices....He is as good as they get.
