2009 CVO Roadglide FLTRSE3
« on: May 22, 2008, 08:23:28 PM »

This is more than rumor but less than an absolute certainty.  I have a friend that is the sales mgr of a HD dealership.  In the course of placing an order the MOCO goofed and acknowledged the FLTRSE3.  Don't know if the acknowledgment information was an error or just the act of sending it before  the new models are announced at the dealer show in Las Vegas this July.   Appear the colors will be yellow/black and black/orange.

If so, the first Orange bike should be numbered 2 as Brian has been riding the prototype Screaming Eagle Roadglide  for quite some time.

If I hear more from other sources one way or the other, i will update.

Even if they do, and given their effectiveness at keeping information on close hold that's a big "if," you wanna bet that the paint schemes from 00 and 01 will still be cooler :mango: ?

Yeah, but it will have a 110 engine so the paint scheme won't matter.

Well we can only hope.  We will know for sure soon enough I guess.  Sure as hell hope that if they do build it they put something other than the 110 in it.

That's an easy hope right now.  Not to just be contrary can't help but consider the following though:

Harley all too regularly has real issue with new major product releases.  And we become BETA testers as a result.  It's not ipso facto.  But given their history with new releases who wants to be the owner of a new product rushed to market without even the normal developemental testing (that is seemingly never enough) that is replacing the 110 product that itself was very bad?

Actually, anything short of them duplicating those paint schemes would be blasphemy, of sorts.  I just can't see them doing any better than those iconic designs and color combinations.  To me, they are and always will be, the quintessential Screamin' Eagle bikes.

(OK, so I'm biased. :P)

I don't know of anyone with a 88", 95", 103" or 120" motor that's scared of a 110.
Unless of course they come up behind it in traffic and are worried about it blowing oil on their bikes!

EHowie, I am confident that the MoCo will have all of the 110" problems resolved by July when the SERG3 is released. The 110" is a great motor that has only had a few minor issues. Why anyone would waste another $15000 to 'rebuild' a perfectly good engine is beyond me understanding but that is why the MoCo sells aftermarket parts.

IF this turns out to be, I'll be down for another banana. :bananarock:
Of course this would go out the window if they have the 110 still in them.

I think the MoCo will continue with the 110" for a few more years at least...like someone said in another thread, they won't go back to the 103, as that would be an admission on the MoCo's part that the 110 was a failure.  They may bump it up to a 113, but they'd have to change some of the parts, because if I'm not mistaken, the 113 kit, along with the JIMS 120 and 131 are considered, by Harley/EPA standards as "race-only" modifications.  If I'm wrong on that, I apologize.   ;)
