PCIII Question
« on: August 19, 2005, 11:21:25 PM »

I'm new to this site, but have been learning all I can about my 06 SEEGU on order and perf. mods.  I noticed on the Dynojet website that the mapping is available both with and without the Stage I ECM installed.  What's best?  It would seem that the PCIII would eliminate the need for the ECM install. Comments?   Also, seems that everyone swaps mufflers, but no threads about modifying stock pipes (i.e. punching out baffles) and checking dyno results.  TIA!  This site is great!

Yeah, spent a lot of time trying to modify the stock mufflers on a '04 SEEG and it was a total disaster!  Save your time and money, 'cause all you'll end up with is a louder sound with a distinct 'popcorn' sound that no one could live with.......no need to dyno!  Har!   spyder [smiley=furious.gif]

txbear55, welcome aboard!  What color Ultra are you getting?  Go with the Powercommander III and some aftermarket exhaust.  [smiley=cool4.gif]

Hey TX Bear, I'm in N Tx also and have a black/charcoal on order with the same delivery date.  I also have a post going about the touring muffler on the new 06's.  Past touring mufflers were made by Kerker/Supertrapp and you could buy new baffles from them if you wanted a change. I like the looks of the new 4" muffler, but have wondered if Kerker still makes them and if the baffles can ber changed?  Where did you buy your bike?

If you want a powercommander, get a USB, not a III.

Hey Bear,

Welcome...Im kinda new too.  There is a lot of knowledge here on this board. And I will pass it along.

Best advice I found on the board for this was to talk to whoever is going to be tuning your bike and see what they prefer....Race tuner/pcIII/other...this will make life easier for all. Plus you will probably have a better tune. My people prefer race tuner and I said...duh...ok...but Im pickin the pipes.

Green SE UG will be here next week. I will look and if its lust at first site will order race tuner and pipes. If not will have to wait for the charcol/crimson...but I think its going to be green. Pipes ...Im still debating on. Read ever thread on pipe...that just made it harder to decide.

Might have baby pics of the bike posted soon.

Hey GC Super,   Let me just say that I bought out of the DFW area for now.   I agree that it would be nice to be able to modify the pipes for good sound and flow. I would still like to be able to hear the great new stereo,xm, etc. so I don't want too much noise.  I'm a Joe Minton fan (American Rider) and I believe he had a major influence on the Kerkers.  Hope to connect up with you when we get the bikes!

Hey txbear, fair enough.  I've read most of J Mintons stuff also and Iwas suprised when I bought the recommended PAT baffles. Boy were they loud. Didn't keep them very long.  Looking forward to hooking up when the new bikes come in.

Later, Robert

Mr. AIR

Just a suggestion,
Talk to your dealer and ask if you can take pictures of your baby coming out of the box.
That was an idea from this site and I'm sure glad I did. See pictures in the gallery under SE06 pictures.
Should you keep the bike a long time those first pictures will be keepers.

HD2003,

Nice Pic....I just might give em a call monday and ask if I can do baby pics. It should be coming in this week. I plan to keep it a while. I might give it to my son after he graduates college. We just moved him into the dorm today. I have a few years to think
about that one!

Thanks,
