03 R/K 103ci Upgrade
« on: September 15, 2005, 04:09:49 PM »

I want to add the HD SE 103ci upgrade to my TC88. What kind of performance gain can I expect and will this be as reliable while touring as the original TC88? Also, should the exhaust be upgraded as well ?(I would think it should) Has anyone used  a White Bros. rear lowering kit on their R/K?

Oscar, HD offers many versions of the 103 motor. For a better response to your question, list which package you are considering. Also, if you have acess to a screaming eagle catalog, they have dyno's listed to get you in the ballpark.

Oscar,
You might want to look at an S&S 106" kit.A little more bang for the buck, and a lot better quality flywheels, that are rebuildable.Jim's/Harley are not rebuildable.I've seen a number of front rod failures.

Hey John, welcome to the CVO board. I've read many of your posts on HTT. You could really benefit this board with many questions concerning heads, especially the OEM  CVO heads.   When SBC built my stroker, they told me the same thing concerning the S&S, so I went that route instead of the SE.  Now I'm trying to sell the bike, and most people want to know why it doesn't have a Harley motor in it.  LOL

Gc,
Just tell them you wanted good RELIABLE power and torque, and that's why you did what you did.
Hope that storm doesn't affect you.

Thanks John.  That't the same answer I got when SBC built my stroker, Better materials, cheaper, and rebuildable.
As for the storm, locally we are supposed to get winds around 40mph and a lot of rain, but we need it, I just hate to see the S TX guys take a hard hit.
