« on: September 17, 2012, 08:25:13 AM »

So I did a search and didn't come up with a whole lot of info. Is anyone using the woods tw222 cams?> whats your thoughts on it?? I just picked up my 2013 SEultra and I am going to do exhaust and a cam and tune. Thinking Jackpot 2/1 exhaust.

While the 222 would "work", me thinks that the power, vs the existing 255, may not be a large increase/gain, for the dollar spent.
A better approach, FWIW, would be to cc/surface/equalize the combustion chamber volumes, setting the proper compression, and then install the Wood 777.
Now THAT, would get-r-done.

As we all know.......... there are plenty of options / ways to go WITHOUT pulling the heads, plenty of bolt-ins! It sure does get tiring reading almost every post of yours as a pump for business.

Fortunately we are entitled to our opinions and the right to express them. (within posting guidelines) I don't read Hillsides post as a pump for business.
I read his post above as giving those that are interested options. Of course if someone chooses to use Hillside then that is their business.
I have discussed a few things with Hillside and got solid info. Never got an invoice for those discussions either.
I suspect that as long as "rules of postings" are followed everyone here can express their opinion.
Mine is, thanks Scott, I didn't spend a dime at your place but do appreciate your help!

Jamie from Fuel Moto would be your best source for information. He has tested the cam with his pipes and likely in a 110.
I had great luck recomending the TW5 in the 110 but that was with a different pipe. That cam is new and there aren't a lot of examples of that in a 110 yet. It is a torquer but may pull a little more out the back chute than the SE255. If I was using that cam in the 110 I would not bother with headwork.

Opinion, yup we are entitled to them......... I have expressed mine and now you have yours. I do not, however, see you jumping down anyones elses throat for posting the same type of post that I did. Enough with the thread jacking, if you have something to say to me, by all means get it out.... in a pm, as was stated a while back.

Sheese Warlock... who shat in your Wheaties this morning.  Hillside is merely toting the benefits of headwork.  I don't see him sayin "My Headwork" or anything of that nature.

But the stock CVO heads move enough air as-is really with only the addition of pipes and a mild cam. JMHO
The main benefit of the heads off is to raise the CR. JMHO
It is about piston flow demand. The TW222 will be done in a motor this displacement at 5-5.2K despite the larger valve curtain and port area and heads that flow ~285cfm stock.
Add some lift, duration, and overlap and we are playing a whole new game.

A local automotive machine shop, in his area, would be very capable of a cc/surface if in fact he opted for that suggestion.
I did not suggest he use us, but rather only information to help him, in his want for a power upgrade, that would maximize his hp gain, for dollar spent, as actually most of my posts reflect.
Mighty sorry if you misinterpreted my meaning. :confused5:

I had the Wood 222 installed along with Rinehart True Duals on my 2012 CVO Ultra. After 3100 miles I am very pleased with the package.

Those are some pretty good starting numbers. What had you done before the cam change to the 222?

Thanks.

Compared to the 255s how does it feel?  Notice any reduced heat?  That looks good for a bolt. Looks to me it should cool things down a bit with the added duration and overlap.

I had the work done before I took delivery so I have nothing to compare it to. No other changes were made except for a good tune after the install. My fuel mileage is in the low 30's with mostly 55-75 mph highway riding.
