looking for ideas for 110" motor set up.
« on: September 21, 2012, 09:19:16 AM »

Hey guys, looking for some opinions for  my 13 SEultra. I am getting ready to do exhaust and may consider head gasket and a cam swap. I want the bike to make power down low as I am usually riding 2 up. I also dont want it to be to loud. So whats your thoughts?

Zippers tbw air filter kit.
Supertrapp = quiet power.
Pull the heads cc/surface w/.030" gasket for the needs of the cam.
Install a Wood 555 or 777.
Tune it and smile.

I have Woods TW7H cams with S&S stop limit lifters.
Really happy with the results.
Fuel Moto has the dyno chart for these in a 110.

A 2/1 would be the best, but the slip-ons are very good as well. :)

If you havent looked at the Fullsac Stage 1 and 2, then I would recommend you do.

Not hijack this thread but I just bought the 12 model and was curious about the 555 vs 777 applications.

Questions:
1) Isn't the SE A/C on the Ultra a hi flow A/C (though a paper element)?
2) Given your suggestions what would be the likely compression ratio? &
3) 555 vs 777 where might one perform better vs the other.

Just asking because I'm in the same stage as the OP, though I ride 90% solo.

I'm also interested in what type of results you are seeing after the head work and the new cams? i'm also looking for the next step after intake, exhaust, and tuner.

As far as head work the compression bump does more for them with short torque cams. Go up in duration and move to "hot rod" and the picture changes plus the need for a larger TB added compression and a strong performing pipe become critical.

I stand corrected on the air cleaner.
www.joescyclerepair.com, has an element/kit manufactered for the Ventilator's, that is 2 times as thick as the OE.
If your headed into it, the 777 would be a great choice, set @ 10.4 cr.

Thanks for the info!  Yeah that 10.4 CR makes me reluctant with the octane necessary to avoid the dreaded pinging :nervous:.  I'm not sure that part can be tuned out. :nixweiss:

Any suggestions for a cam that will do with a lower compression, yet provides significant improvement over the stock 255's?
