I have a great idea!  For all those guys that have boxes of these keys just laying around, we'll set up an exchange, where interested 2013 CVO owners on this site will be given one of the keys from the owners who have no interest in them, until every available key is delivered to a 2013 CVO owner from this site.

So all of you guys that say you really don't care about having the key anyhow or don't understand the interest expressed by some of the 2013 CVO owners, list how many you have, and we can arrange shipping to interested 2013 owners and they will pay (dollar or so) shipping costs. :pineapple: :pepper:

Should be an easy exhange for those that say the key is of no value to them & then they can feel better to knowing, they are giving it to a fellow CVO owner that would appreciate an exclusive keepsake.

Don't all answer up at once, so we can keep track! :nervous:

You want a brass key that won't even fit your personal bike?

Most riders probably don't use it to start their bike, it's not the key fob.  In the mean time we'll wait for all the other generous guys that don't want theirs.  Sometimes it the symbolic gesture.  Maybe not! :huepfenlol2:

I'm not sure too many people want a key that fits their personal bike out floating around with someone else.  I had to look for mine once this thread was started because I had forgotten about it, I don't really want it or need it but don't necessarily want some else to have a key that fits my bike.

Exactly!!! One reason I don't understand why some would keep a key when they sell their bike. If I were to buy a used CVO that came with a gold (bronze/brass :D) key I would consider having the locks changed for peace of mind. :nixweiss:

Yeah, I guess if you give some CVO owner this keepsake he will be bent on stealing your bike, though he has one of his own.  Possible! :P

O.K. I'll make it easy on you guys.  We secretly shuffle the keys in a large bin and randomly send them out across the country.  No?  I don't blame you, you can't trust these 2013 CVO owners! :P

And that's the reason I said I was glad they weren't doing the keys anymore.  For some reason unbeknownst to me, no one can seem to manage to keep stuff together for these bikes (covers, manuals, lowers, backrest, yadda-yadda ...) let alone a tiny key.  I know, because I had to piece a lot of the SERG-specific stuff together for my 2000 after I bought the bike.  Thank God they didn't have gold/bronze/brass/whatever keys then.  It might have been a royal PITA tracking down some of the stuff that went missing, but at least I don't have to worry about some a-hole I've never met before walking around with a key to my bike.

Maybe you're missing my point... mine will stay with my bike... whether the bike remains with me forever or is sold/given away. If you have your own CVO and it didn't come w/the key then just consider it a modification the MoCo didn't do and purchase one keyed to your bike. :2vrolijk_21:

You have a '12, therefore a key.  You go first.

I don't think you'll need a large bin, more likey a tea cup for the one or two keys you might end up receiving.  ;)   :vrolijk_11:

Except us... we know where everything is for our bike(s)... including all the take off pieces. :D :D

I don't believe I'm missing the point, this was directed to those that say they don't want theirs and don't understand the concern that some of the 2013 CVO owners have concerning MoCo ceasing this program.
