Stupid question

Are all 103 kits the same? Are the stock SE 103 pistons in my bike anything unusual? Would I be better off buying some non-screamin eagle heads instead of spending a bunch of money trying to weld and or machine my heads to achieve a decent compression ratio? Or should I just pick up a stock flat top big bore 103 kit with jugs and pistons and go with a .030 head gasket?

An OE flat top piston/.030" head gask combo equates to at/near 10.0 cr on those assuming 85cc chambers, if that is where you want to land.

Ive been told that my heads are 98cc and I'm planning on keeping my 48 cams.
