Title: FXR and pre-2009 FLT frame differences.
Post by: Hank Hankerson on September 12, 2011, 09:08:12 PM
Got an FXR4.  Service manuals between FXR and FLT are shared.  Much about the frame is shared with exception of the steering tube area which is goosenecked for touring duty and the FLT uses heavier tubing.  Is there any reason why a sidecar for an FLT wouldn't bolt to the back part of the frame if I made a front bracket to fit the front to the highway peg mount (where all the FXR specific mounts go to)?

Other than the motor mount location, they are not the same at all.  Way different.

they DID make fxr sidecar mounts

very very very rare parts to find it all - the sidecar, its frame etc are all exactly the same as the normal one but the mounts are completely unique
