I wish you would have kept it over in the FXR Section though.....it's where this build should belong.....Maybe it can get moved over to the FXR Section by the moderators.....

It will be sweet getting her on the road. Now I'm trying to figure out how to tell my son I was kidding about giving him the bike! :D Naw, I let him ride her until he can get his own! Then it's back to Papa!  :huepfenjump3:

I thought about posting in the FXR section but that really is for the CVO models. Heck this scooter was before the MoCo thought about making CVO's. That's why I notified the FXR brotherhood (sisters too) in the FXR chatter. I'm cool with where ever the Mods think it belongs. I was just guessing!

I'm going to try something a little different for the handlebars. With the gauges mounted on the bars, pull back risers are pretty much out of the question. I had these old Deuce bars lying around so I'm going to mount them for now. A wee bit of the knurling may show but I can't beat the price for now.

I had pull back risers on mine and it worked fine. The only other mod I made was to get rid of that ei and replaced it with points with a mechanical advance. I got rid of the brain and that space and cover was replaced with a Harley lockable tool kit which fit right in and looked great.  Doc

Good deal Jeff...How ya going on the paint? Ya gonna go as she is or change a bit? I also agree with Tim; shoulda been in the FXR Section. Our Fxr's are CVO's but they be Fxr's first. Best to ya on this project and can't wait to see her when she's done  :2vrolijk_21:

Oh...I meant to tell ya I got a set of Sportster bars that I have on my Fxr4 and I'm pulling them off as they don't work for me as far as comfort is concerned. With my arthritis ; I have been getting pain in my right wrist and shoulder since putting them on; so If you think you might want them for the Fxr then you can have them. Check out Tim's bike in this thread and tell me if you think they'll work for you and they be yours...No charge my Fxr brother...LMK  :2vrolijk_21:  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?board=9.0

Here's the measurements on the bar if ya decide to use it

HD PN: 56085-83T

W = 31"
C  = 7.5"
R  = 4.5"
PB = 5.75"

Been search up part for her which is not easy as the 84 has some part unique to just that year. However I did find a couple of unusual Harley part to put on her such as this new center console

now that's a very interesting console, I've never seen one like that .......  I wonder why they put those louvers in it   :nixweiss:

I'll be dropping in a cam but no head work at this time. Going to let my son ride it for the year then see what else I might want to do. I am putting new Progressive 412's on

sweet !!

You have to be sure and come back and tell us how you like those shocks !

I've been considering those for my bike ...... considering them for about 18 months now .......  LOL
If I wasn't the cheap bastage that I am, I would have them already !!    :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

You got any ol pic of the pull backs with these gauge mount? Love to see em if you do! I would think the angle of the dangle would make em hard to see.
