Had dealer install Oil Temp Guage replacing that valuable Air temp guage on my new 07 SE Ultra at delivery.  

Took off from dealer - the OTG was D.O.A.  -- no movement of needle (I'm sure the oil cooler does its job but the temp should hit at least 220 in Houston traffic)

Returned for 1k service (after doing the oil change myself) and asked them to fix the guage.

Of course they said they reseated the gage and sending unit and it works perfectly --  .

Back on the road the gauge is D.O.A.

Does anyone know how to test both the gauge and sending unit with a volt meter?

I've never used one but it looks like this is my opportunity buy one and learn.......

Installed at delivery then should be covered under vehicle warranty shouldn't it?  Make them fix it.
