More sad news from H-D for so many reasons, but if you can't afford it, you can't afford it.  They should admit it though.  Saying that you are going back to your roots by supporting your dealers’ racing efforts by giving them $ when they win is chicken poop.  H-D is killing their dealers.  How are they going to invest in race teams when they are being choked?

Indian has been doing well on flat tracks.  HD either had to step up it's racing game or bow out as a corporate sponsor.  Allocation of resources decision, lots of times racing sponsorships suffer when costs get cut.

They'll be missed at NHRA national events. The Vance & Hines bikes had a large following. The old Suzuki technology and even Matt Smith with his Championship S/S entries just have never had the interest of the V&H bikes. Personally I will miss the support/displays etc at the big races plus Matt & Eddie Krawiec were friendly and always had time to talk. Hopefully they continue racing with HD branded equipment  but with outside sponsorship.

I am sorry to say they don’t have anything competitive in flat track and their drag racing product does not resemble anything they produce.  I use to love to watch the racing but have lost interest in what H-D is putting on the track.  Hopefully this will change and they will develop a competitive bike in whatever area they return to in racing.

NO NHRA Legal Pro Stock Drag bike resembles anything that any manufacturer sells. They are ground up race bikes, not rebuilt to race street bikes. I will really miss the Vance & Hines NHRA bikes, which hopefully still be campaigned without the HD support,  they have made a Suzuki dominated class much more interesting over the years and the spin-off S&S motor based "Buells" also are cool to watch. Neither ever had anything to Do with a street bike.
