CLEMSON IS COMING
-
Stand down. It's just a nocturnal emission. :huepfenjump3:
-
I'd talk crap about the Luckeyes being rated #2 over you guys but the other 3 meetings between the two teams have all gone south, especially the one 3 years ago.

And so is LSU...Geaux Tigers!

And so is LSU...Geaux Tigers!
Watched 12 hours of football on Saturday, not counting nap time. Joe Burrows is an amazing QB. Nerves of steel, incredible talent. Sooners will have more than their hands full, no prediction on Clemson/Ohio State but it'll be LSU vs ??.
-
GO BUCKEYES!
-
Really, as a Wolverine fan, I'm rooting for Michigan and anyone playing against those nuts. I can't wait to see the Tide get rolled. GO BLUE!!!
-
My Tigers get the Golden Gophers New Years Day...I'll watch that... :2vrolijk_21:
This year, for the national championship, I'm still pulling for the Tigers but not the ones from Clemson (I apologize to Jimmy and my Uncle Oz...he was an A#1 Clemson fan and graduated from there back in the '50's) ...I'm pulling for the purple and gold from Baton Rouge...Geaux Tigers
I do, however, hope Clemson can hand THE Ohio State university a very satisfying and much one-sided loss....ain't a Buckeye fan.
I'm just tickled that team from Tuscaloosa is not in the mix this year...so glad my Tigers as well as those from LSU had a hand in that elimination...War Eagle
Clemson and LSU in the final would be one heck of a ballgame... ;D

Joe couldn't even break second string at The Ohio State University, guess that show the level of depth there.
GO BUCKS :2vrolijk_21:

Or, it shows a failure of talent evaluation.

You better stick to evaluation of Indian/Harley pal :huepfenlol2:

I think LSU will go all the way. I always pull for the SEC team in the championship game. But I really dislike LSU fans, they are as bad if not worse then Bama fans. I work with lots of both Offshore.
LSU will win their first playoff game for sure. I think Ohio vs Clemson will be close. Being born and raised in MI, I could never root for Ohio, even though I left MI in 1981.
Tigers vs Tigers would be a good championship game.
-
So I tell the wife......all I gotta do now is wait for the game, and then I'll change. She says it's 18 days away, go to the garage.

Feeling good about 2 Buckeyes in the running for the Heisman trophy. First time in history that 2 teammates have been in the running. I think I already know who has this in the bag. Going to be a different game this year (Clemson). No one thought we could beat Alabama in 2014. We can't have another 1/2 like we did with Wisc.! O-H!
-
Not wishing the 'eyes any bad luck (yuk, yuk) but lets see if my Tigers can make them change the way they spell their name. Last time they played the boys from Moo U, they changed it too O310

I'm 100% with you on that TS. I only pull for 2 teams...….Clemson and whoever plays Bama
-
Sure not much love for my Sooners on here...lol. Don't think they stand a chance against LSU either though. Not a OSU fan at all and don't think Clemson will have any problems there. LSU-CLEMSON.... good game but think 2k might should wash the socks... Thinking LSU come out on top

One of my riding buddies lives in Chickasha and is a huge Okie fan. Was big on here at one time(how we met) but dropped off cause it got to restrictive. Sad but if you look around a lot of the long timers are gone. My Kid and I went to Oklahoma and picked him up and went on to Red River, NM and rode the West for a week...….1st time we had met face to face. Times change!!!
BTW: I hope the Sooners roll LSU cause I like Hurts a bunch, since he left Ballyamma.

Red River area is sure a pretty place to ride. Oh yes times change, and rhe older I get the harder it is to accept the way the world has changed. I remember my grandpa fussing about the same things we fuss about though.
Think Hurts is a good kid, he has done well for OU this year. I would love to see him in the Championship game just out of spite for Bama...lol.
Your Clemson boys sure look good this year but LSU has too. Thinking it will be a game to watch till the very end.

Don't have a dog in this hunt, my team (not FSU) is playing in one of the Tidy Bowls. Won't get to see the major New Year's bowls - the ones that count - around then since will be in a furrin country, but will be checking to see who won what & how the Championship game shakes out.
This year there isn't much controversy as to the Top 4 picked for the playoffs. Would still like to see it go beyond those 4 to allow more conference champions included as contenders. Do not hear much about that this year, but in the next year or 2 the 4 picks will be very controversial & then it will start up again.
Top 4 should make for great playoff games. May the best team win & not because of the refs.
-
You can put money that it will expand within 3 years. The only argument I have heard against it is that it would make the NY6 bowls less important. Who cares?! The whole idea of the playoff is to find the best team in the country and you can't do that if they are playing in a NY6 bowl, which could happen because we have humans picking the 4 CFP teams.
BTW: You being from Fl and saying no Semiholes…..I hope you are a Gator cause the Canes suck canal water. USF just got a good coach from my Tigers. Watch out for them in 3/4 years
-
USF & UCF. UCF is the biggest university in the state.
Agreed on the need for a real playoff. 4 teams is not enough. Also agreed on the NY 6 bowls. When I was a kid that was the big deal. These bowls could be utilized in a playoff system and can see "consolation" bowls for the losing teams.
Am a transplant, have only been in Florida 25 years. Am a Texan by birth & raising & a Texas Longhorn. This year we are the ranks of teams that are over paying coaches and assistant coaches for mediocre performances and as a result we get a mediocre bowl. Was not a fan of the Tidy Bowls as they cropped up to offer paydays to 6-6 schools (like FSU) & in my opinion 7-5 (Longhorns) is one game better but does not warrant a celebration such as a bowl game. Know all the arguments about "well it's a payday for the school & good tv exposure & recruiting & the fans get to go to celebrate & have a vacation & yadda yadda." Boolsheet. It's another example of elementary school where everybody gets a trophy even if they should be sitting on their azzes to watch the ones who truly excelled get their trophies. Am not sure what type of dinosaur I am, but it's the kind that thinks participation trophies and awards are a joke - including the college football Tidy Bowls.

8 team would crown a unquestioned champ, but you would still have at least one of the 8 crying after it was over about how they were really the best if the refs hadn't screwed them that first game
-

Yes, that is true. We will also have crying this year in one of the 3 championship games about refs and how if this 1 play had gone the other way with no penalty then blah blah. Very safe bet.
Not specifically any team or any 1 conference but this ref call/no call on pass interference makes the game less enjoyable for me In general, the pass interference no calls are a real oddity - across the board. Sometimes the secondary can play handsie & jump in the receivers lap & grab his arms & do the cha-cha before the pass & the ref - standing right there - doesn't call it. Other times the secondary can barely brush a receiver & the ball is 10 yards over the guys head & it's pass interference. The contact rules as they are interpreted these days stink on ice.

While the replays were a good idea, they have been abused. In or out of bounds, targeting, fumbles and that's it. LET THEM PLAY.

Agreed
-
Yea I have always had a problem with the "targeting" rule! More so the penalty...
-
The targeting rule needs to go, because it has really always been around. They used to call it spearing and only called it if looked like an attempt to inflict injury or used as a payback. It always seems to be called more when the game is on the line. Stopping the action when a team is on a roll is extremely unfair. Tempo wins games!!!

Another way teams themselves stall out tempo is "injury timeouts." A player takes a hit & fakes an injury to stop the clock, especially when their team is out of timeouts. Is not possible to determine if that injury was real or not but sometimes these look extremely convenient, timely, and stall out an opponent who is on a roll. One way to stop this would be: any player who halts play for any injury is out for the rest of that entire possession - on defense or offense. Or out for the rest of that quarter. As it stands now, some grin on the sideline then come back in 1 play later. Most injuries are real, some are not.

I agree on this. When you see a player that's fine & walking around, but suddenly falls down to stop play - that needs to be addressed. Make them leave the game for a series of downs.
-
Points spread should have just got bigger with OU losing 3 players. Loosing the D lineman will make a bad defensive non existent

Hated to hear that but it speaks volumes for Coach Riley. Brings back bad memories though....before the Championship Game in '16, Swinney suspended their leading WR and lost much worse that the score showed. We need those type of coaches to lead our young people. Many coaches (one from Alabama for sure) will suspend rule violators and law breakers and then right before the big game players will be reinstated. Good luck to the Sooners, but damn man!!!

Dem Tigers gonna be up Saban's azz for awhile

Some teams do better at 8 am, others at noon, & other teams at 4 pm. Looks like my Longhorns will do a little better at 4 pm.
;)

Interesting also that 6 of the top 10 are SEC schools.
Good deal to Clemson on having the numero uno recruiting class, Jimmy.

It would appear Saban is getting it from the Tigers on the bottom and top...

That would explain why *some* of past year's recruiting classes have played like asses instead of a bunch of 4 & 5 stars.
It's always 5 o'clock somewhere. 8)

The game was basically over before the half...against the #4 team in the country. They’re going to be hard to beat.

SOONERS didn't last to long... big step this year from 1-3 to #4

After watching Clemson - OSU for 2 1/2 qtrs., I’m not sure either can hang with LSU.
-
With that matchup it would be a heck of a game. A Joe Burrows/Trevor Lawrence shootout.
Best 2 teams, will be fun to watch.

The Tigers will win, I have no doubt.

My thoughts too. I really expected the Clemson/OSU game to be a lot like LSU/OU. I know OU was way behind the top 3 but think LSU might have showed how good they are
-
Just heard of another Dignitary that will be attending. Big Tiger fan!
-
Because of the common bond between my beloved Auburn Tigers (Walter Merritt Riggs, circa 1896) and the Clemson Tigers plus the fact that I work with the most annoying LSU fan I have ever met, I say Go Tigers!
-
One thing that is obvious after the first quarter is the difference between #1-3 vs the rest of college football
-
Geaux Tigers! Natl Champs for 2019! Clemson played a tough, hard-fought game.
-
Congrats to LSU for winning & to Clemson for playing a great game! :2vrolijk_21:
-
Great game!! There was some controversial calls & plays.....it's part of football. No whining from this Clemson Fan, LSU played a far superior 2nd half and earned the win. See you next year!!
-
It was really a great game by both teams.
-
I’m speculating Clemson will be ranked #1 to kick off the 2020 season. In about eight months we get to start this over again. Can’t wait.
-
Early pools show Clemson as the #1 team for next season. No argument here on that one.
I also refuse to use that "3 word catch phrase" in regard to my Longhorns for next year's results, will just wait & see how they play.

Agreed. Clemson has the #1 recruiting class. LSU will have no Burrow. Will be an interesting season, I like college ball a lot better than the pros & have for years.

This is rare from this old Auburn fan and it may not be ever again but...
GEAUX Tigers
LSU was the best team last evening and pretty much all season.
I'm just glad it was LSU and Clemson and didn't include that OTHER team from the same State as Auburn (the team who's name shall not be mentioned). I'm'a bettin' those fans are very upset they weren't in it...and so very happy that we were the ones that eliminated them from it... :bananarock:

T A&M won't play Texas. Texas was overall 76 W 35 L 5 tie. Would like to continue the stomping but A&M won't cooperate anymore.
-
Don't forget Clemson is in the ACC
