RideOn tire balancer???
« on: January 31, 2018, 03:54:03 PM »

having a set of mag wheels chrome plated and can not find any decent looking wheel weights -   was looking for some feed back on the  product called RideOn  - it's supposed to balance the wheel as well as seal small punctures - anyone have any experience with this product good or bad please chime in - thanks

I went from using dyna beads to the ride on. I have used it for about 10K miles. Like it and plan on using it again. A friend has been using it for over 20K.  No issues with it.  Sure hope I dont ever need the flat tire protection it claims.

BTW amazon is where I got it.

'Can't comment on the balance factor as my Indy balanced the wheels before installing the ride-on... I can vouch that ride-on had no sealing properties,,, had a massive flat :nervous: won't waste the money again...

Don't know how well it works as a balancer, but it has worked a couple of times to seal nail holes.  Wouldn't expect it to contain a golf ball-sized hole.      :nixweiss:

I have been using Ride On for years, just ordered some two nights ago for the new bike.

No complaints, The wheels aren't out of balance, or I can't tell....

With the low profile tires it adds a little bit of comfort.

Any particular mess or hassle with this stuff when dismounting later?

This looks interesting.  Not really a fan of the beads and have been pretty stubborn in general, going the traditional route with stick-on weights for balancing tires.  Always concerned about screwing up a new $150+ tire.

Mess, yes. It cleans up with soap and water though.

i had heard that the rideon stays in the outer part of the tire thus alleviating any mess?

It's not terrible at all. There isn't anything wrong with the product that would keep me from running it.

I will be ordering Ride On for my new bike soon. Used it for on rear tires and 1 front on the old bike. As far as balancing goes it works 100% as advertised. The bike ran smooth as silk. I never had a puncture (that I know of) so I can't comment as to how well that part works. My Indy never complained to me about any mess when changing the tires...
