the 240 rear-tire changes a lot ...seat , sissy , detachables etc etc.
How can you possibly "corner" with Apes  :P I would love to get the low-down on that ...just curious as i never ridden them so pardon my ignorance...

I actually find it easier to corner with the apes, but non ape riders have a hard time believing that :)

After riding with apes a while it's all natural, handling is very good, comfort, etc. I'd have a hard time going back to the riding position of the stock bike after getting my candle lit with these bars.

I put 9.5 inch Wild 1 chrome Chubbys on my 08 springer and have those lengths if anyone wants them. That bike is also the black model. After seeing how the black bars look and feel on my 09 when riding, I've already ordered the parts to convert my 08 SE springer to black gloss 16 inch Chubbys.

I might be interested in buying the 9.5" bars and cables if you still have them... :huepfenlol2:

I sent you a PM over a week ago about it. :2vrolijk_21:

I like the so-called buckhorn bars that Harley put on their original Springers. I guess they'd be equivalent to mini-apes now. I've used them on my old springer and they are quite comfy and visually balanced with the bike. The apes on rheiner's bike are a personal preference thing, but to my eye they are too wide or too sharp-angled at the base. You've got a wide horizontal bar passing through two narrow risers. It doesn't "flow" to my eyes.  I don't like the bends that company puts in their bars, they are too tight. Paired up with the small 18 inch wheel, this very high rising bar reminds me of a BMX bike. No insult intended, because everyone knows, opinions are like.....

I'm still on my stock bars, and while I can think of a better set-up, I can't find one.

I picked up my 09 Springer today. I put on Wild 1 Chubby 16 inch Springer bars powder coated in gloss black, Rush slip ons, and the detachable docking hardware for a back rest and sport luggage rack. The Rinehart cross backs on my 08 Springer are way meaner but these will do, reluctantly, until Rinehart (my personal preference) makes something for this bike. Here are some pictures. You can see the clutch and brake cables are a bit sloppy now. I tie wrapped them until I decide if I want handle bar clamps or what.

You have put together one hell of a bike there.  Outstanding.  I love the black chubbies with chrome controls.  You got any miles on that beauty yet?

Got my ape hanger ticket in Daytona.  Didn't get stopped all week then all of a sudden twice in 5 miles.  $101.00 the cop said think of it as the cost of doing business.  The funny part is he said the vehicle is unsafe, but yet I can ride in florida with no helmet.  :)

How wide are your handlebars from end to end, if you don't mind me asking? (Clutch eand of bar to throttle end.)

 Hi,
Wow bike looks sharp, I am envious. Don't know how the riding weather has been by you. I was just wondering on how the comfort is on the ape's. I have heard from some that the ride quality declines. It looks to me as though it would be a really good feel. Just wondering what you think. Thanks

The WO569 bars that I put on this bike are 37.5 inches wide.
