More critter stories
« on: September 25, 2023, 10:56:03 AM »

About 2 weeks ago I was riding home at night and a large racoon came running out of the ditch full speed and ran into my bike. He went right between the back of the front fender and the front of the engine. What stopped him was when his head collided with the rear brake master cylinder. I pressed the rear brake pedal and I knew right away there was some kind of damage because the pedal felt "soft". When I got home (less then a mile from where he hit me) fluid was leaking out. The rear brake reservoir was completely broke off but it was lying between the exhaust pipe and the engine. I was able to salvage the cover at least. $120 later and an hour in the shed and my bike is fixed. Be careful of the critters out there!

Glad you are okay. What happened to the raccoon?  🦝

I think he went back into the woods. No evidence of him anywhere.  :nixweiss:

Those raccoons are tough critters for sure.

Glad you are okay, and hopefully the bike is all fixed by now.
