Sounds like you've got the notification set (which is optional). At work now and can't get my hands on Zumo or manual, but that is something you can change.

If you do a Google search on "Zumo 550" you will See several places that sell the GPS. I have seen it as low as $359. There are a couple stores on this site that have a continuous price war. If you keep checking you will see low prices. They are going to push extended warranty or additional trinkets but if you stick to your guns you can git it at the advertised price. It is a NIB w/ Factory warranty. Not a refurb.

I too am new to the navigation thing, that is on a motorcycle. I have used my hand held Etrex for many field problems deployments and other things. I stepped up the game just a bit however. I purchased a Megellan Crossover GPS. With a handle bar mount from http://motorcycleaccessoriesrus.com/Productsstemstand.html.

Called the shop to see if it is compatible and that is a big YES! It works great for eight hours with internal battery. Looking for A/C adaptor now. After I get my seat. Any whooooo! I can use it in the truck, trail walking, ocean venture. It holds music and pictures w/ card, sold separately. With extended warranty paid only $116.00 and no tax. Ain't AAFES great! :mango:

Still, on the open market found it for $349.00 plus tax.

All

Anyone looking for the best buy on a ZUMO 550 or any other model should just do a web search for Zumo prices and you will surely find something better than Best Buy.  I bought mine 550 online for under $600 delivered new in the box to my house in Fla.

Good Luck
