2) fire up yer Garmin
3) Tools
4) scroll down and select "Picture Viewer"
5) touch the pic to view it
6) touch "info"
7) tick the box that says "Use this photo as the default splash screen"
8) touch back
9) restart the Zumo and admire.  ;D
