New DAYMARKER REFLECTIVE head lamp
« on: August 22, 2013, 03:59:10 PM »

This looks a lot like the Phase 7 head lamp from Truck Light. I do actually like the look of this one compaired to the other Daymarker. I wonder if there is any difference between the two besides the look?

The price.  Trucklite Phase 7 is about $280 for the headlight alone.  Can get all three from Trucklite for about $450.

I am between the trucklite and the Daymaker myself -the cost is about half -has anyone installed the trucklite kit on a ultra ? did they fit as good as the original bulbs ? Is the Daymaker worth the extra $$ ?

I have the Truck Light Phase 7 and love the light it gives off.  It does how ever fit a little different. It seems to stick out a bit compaired to OE. I also have an issue trying to adjust it. It seems that I can adjust it to where I want it and then try to put the retaining ring on with the bottom screw, it seems to pull the light down.  :nixweiss:

Very interesting.....guess the guys at the Kuryakyn tent in Sturgis were right.  As they were telling me all about the design that went into the Phase 7, they also mentioned being in the final phase of development/implementation of a "new product" going to one of the major US manufacturers and that was all they would say but for me to keep an eye out for it very soon.  I wonder if this is what they were talking about or something for Victory/Indian?  Sure looks like the same type design as the Phase 7....hmmmmmm  ::)

But hey, it says HD on it so it HAS to be more expensive..... :2vrolijk_21:

The phase 7 needs the deep trim to make it look right.  Or it will stick out more.  The ring fixes that.  I love mine. Throws out lots of light.  :2vrolijk_21:

When deciding on a new headlight, I also took into consideration that I already bought and paid for one from Harley...that was an inferior POS that came with my $37,000 bike. Does Harley deserve more of my money for the LED light?...I think not. When it comes to things like this, my money goes to anyone BUT Harley (providing that the non-HD piece is
as good or better). HD or Progressives....which do you think I picked.  HD or BrightASSLight tail light?

I can't speak for ease of install and alignment on Phase 7s.  I did upgrade my head lamp and spots to DayMakers.  They install without dropping the fairing. Alignment was a breeze...did it in my garage (took a few minutes to mark out the target area on the garage door).    (Behind me in the pic is my son with a DayMaker in his Nightster)

Lots of options. Harley makes several.. I have their Visor-Style rings on my P7 and passing lights. They also make a flat ring without the visor, and a couple of new style rings in the past couple of years. Kury also makes some, and there are other brands as well.

I would just google it and you'll get lots of search results.

I have the same trim ring as you but my problem is with the OEM ring that retains the light and the trim ring goes around.  Did you not re instal your OEM retaining ring?

Hey Ken does the Visor trim ring on your bike replace the stock trim or does it mount over the top of the stock one? I am curious because I have the visors on my bullet turn signals and was thinking of doing the same to the headlight. I was looking at the stock trim and it was not readily apparant how it would be removed.

Yup the HD visor trim ring installs over the stock ring.
At least it did on my SG...
