2011 CVO FLHXSE2 Audio
« on: September 19, 2013, 02:43:39 PM »

Please help!! I really don't want to get into building my own "custom" cables/harness..

Looks like I need to update the Audio on this so the boss can use her earbuds and listen to XM.

Is there a list of cables/wiring harness that I will need to change? Can I just buy the harness for a regular Ultra and add the console plug?

I also noticed that the wiring plug for the rocker switch panel only has half of the needed wires/pins, is there a upgraded harness for this as well?

I have been reading posts on this for 3 days now and I'm about ready to "nuk" it.. lol

You might want to post this in Electronic Toys and Gadgets.  You'll get a lot more responses.

Thanks for the move.

I'm pretty sure after reading previous posts that I need the non ultra harness and the ultra console. I'm still in the dark about what cable/harness I need to get the left half of the inter-fairing switches to work?

a good car audio shop that has done bikes before might be able to rig up something for you. If they have the pin out of the radio plug.

The FLHXSE2 is a different animal from a normal Ultra or standard Touring models.
Let me know what upgrades you are doing and I can let you know what you need.

I wouldn't trust an audio shop that has done other touring models because of the differences on the FLHXSE2

Planning on adding the xm and communication kit so she can use her headset. After that I will upgrade the audio on it as it is not very clear going down the road at 70.

If youi want to add the comm kit you will need to create a fully functioning "6B" (audio interconnect) and add the required wires (3) for a functioning speaker switch in the fairing cap. It's a bit of work but can be done.

As was pointed out earlier you will need the non-ultra overlay harness in addition to the work above.

It's doubtful you will find a Dealer or an audio shop that knows exactly what to do.

Hope this helps ....

I ordered the Non-ultra overlay harness & the communications kit. You say the 6a & 6b is for the inner fairing switch?

No ... the 6B connector is used to connect the required signals from the 23pin side of the radio into the non-ultra overlay harness. That is separate from adding 3 wires from the 23pin radio connector to the 105B connector that is used for the fairing cap switches.

Looking at the back of my radio, I do not see a 6A or 6B connector. I have installed the non-ultra overlay and do see the interconnect harness connecter. Also I am trying to find out where anyone is getting the cable, pins, & connectors for these mods?

I just came back from them trying to fix it for the fifth time. They replaced all the speakers and it is still not working. I have now contacted a lemon law attorney
