led headlight in an old honda
« on: January 07, 2014, 03:02:44 PM »

I know most of you are wondering why would anyone want to spend time on an old Honda when we have these nice  :huepfenlol2: CVO Harley's but I still like to fool around with some old bikes.

My old Honda 71 CL 350 does not have the charging capacity to run the headlight and maintain/charge the battery. This got me thinking, what about upgrading the headlight to an LED instead of changing the stock charging system.

Any ideas/help would be appreciated

should be just plug and play, but at that age standard is everything if your showing it off .

Not showing it off, just riding it since getting the carbs finished. Found a Honda dealership in Ohio that stocks some old parts

Would seem the best way to go. If the charging system will run everything & keep the battery up with the old light off, it shouldn't feel the draw of the LED light. Don't trash that old bulb!!!
