Hi,
    I have a 05 SCREAMIN EAGLE ELECTRA GLIDE i just bought today.I noticed when i got home it has a oil leak on top between the engine and tranny.I wiped it off and took a 5 mile ride, When i came back it was seeping between the two cases. Any ideas?The bike only has 8700 miles.

The mystery leak If its at the joint at the area between where the engine and tranny bolt together get used to it. While there is no oil passage there for some reason ,most (if not all) of them have oil weepage there. It shows more on the silver engines.

Clean it really well and watch it. It is possible that the oil is coming from the shift shaft seal which is just behind the joint and on the left side of the tranny case.

Spray it with Carb Cleaner and wipe with rag. I bought a used SEEG with 32K miles it also should the oil looking stain after I cleaned it about 20 times it stays clean now and has 47K miles now.

Had it too... use to drive me crazy......... now I dont ride it.         Wipe it & ride it.

Careful with the cleaners - you might ruin the powder coat.

Some "carb" cleaners will do just that.

Use an engine cleaner and a scrub brush next time you wash the bike.
