Bought new in Aug '09, and my BSR will never let me get rid of her... Then again, why would I...

I have done so many mods and put on so many miles that I am too upside down (getting worse every weekend) to be able to sell it so thankfully I love it and I have it just about perfect for me!

Bought my red one in April 2011 and 35000 miles later (new engine at 25) I'm still loving it. It's a great ride and a great looker.

2012 in red. The new 2015 CVO Road Glide got me a little antsy but I do not intend to get rid of my Rose. The 2016 Road Glide will also give me an itch but I can never let Rose go...she's HOT!!!

For the few short years Harley made the Convertible, I'm so glad I bought one. I had my eye on the last 2011 in Maple / Gold on the east coast. I waited until 3pm on the Saturday before Thanksgiving in Pennsylvania when the dealer was selling NO motorcycles and I made my offer. We danced around for an hour until the owner finally stepped into the sales managers office and told him to sell me the bike.
It is by far the best Harley I have owned (among ten or so over the years) I am over 55, 5'9" 190 lbs and it fits me like it was designed for me. I don't sit on it, I am in it...we are one. It's hard to explain if you don't own one.
I will never sell my 2011 Convertible!!!

sorry guys,  I traded my 2012 cvo softail for a 2013 cvo ultra classic, I loved the way the softail fit me, like a glove,
was real comfortable when I was on it by myself, the lower center of gravity was nice, except the seat got a little hard after about a 1hr of riding, but when we rode 2 up it had a lot to be desired for comfort, I went thru adjusting the shocks so much I could do it in my sleep. also I hated the wind hitting me in the face from under the windshield, i tried another windshield
and lower guards and helped alot but why did I have to loose my sound system, I guess it was a trade off sound or wind.
well I test drove a Ultra Classic and it was all over but the crying, with both us on it we can ride all day long no problem, plus other amenities on the ultra are nice. with all that being said I do miss my softail!

Yeah Flanagan,
I feel for you. Fortunately for me...I guess, I don't have  a significant other. If I did I am sure I would be in the same predicament as you. However, I am not so sure I could do it. Your a better man than I am. Maybe I would have had to push for his and hers.

Ibought my softtail before i could ride it. Brand new off the show room floor Bakersfield Ca. At the time I was learning to ride I bought a Crash and Burn bike, I did crash and burn on it...Took the Cvo softtail home parked it in the garage. My husband said ill tell you when your ready. A few months later i jumped on my Screaming Eagle and im still riding her..I think i got 40,000 miles on it...
Orange and Black...boy do I get the compliments on her... I call her Clockwork Orange, shes a crazy bitch like me....

I agree with you guys about anything more than a solo rider on the Convertible.
That's why I also have an Ultra Classic that I had converted to a trike by California Sidecar. Here is my riding partner on a trip we took to Lake George.
Can't get a more comfortable ride!

Hello all
My first post on this cvo site and found some usefull information already.
I sill have mine after buying new 3 years ago, and still loving the ride. I was told by harley australia that in 2012 there were only approx 1500 made of the convertible and 152 ended up in australia. So in years to come they may be worth something or hold some of there value up, so I will not be selling mine.
cheers

My 2012 is still going strong.  I have 23K on it now.  Bought new in spring of 2012 I seem to remember.  On the second engine now and it seems to be performing much better than the first engine.  Getting about 40 mpg steady.  Still want to get some different pipes for a richer sound and to improve on the power.  Not the best ride, especially when 2 up, but so far have not found another model to make me want to trade up.  When the MoCo makes that model, I'll be trading up.  Pork.

Still the proud owner of the 2010! (The best year IMO)  No intentions of getting rid of her.  Harley has gone backwards since this model and NOTHING they have made since would even make me consider a new bike.  I sold my 2005 15th Anniversary Fatboy for an Ultra in '09.  What a mistake!  But it eventually led me to the CVO Softail Convertible.  My son has his eye on my CVO (he owns my 2005 Fatboy) so a buyer is already lined up.  But it ain't for sale!

Still have my 2011 I bought in Oct 2010 and still love to ride her.
Hey Pork- didn't you start out with a 2010?
And are you going to Sturgis this year?
If so you need to stop in Billings MT and say hi  :2vrolijk_21:

I still have my Inferno Orange 2010 ConV since new and like many of you this bike fits me like a glove.  I agree that 2 up riding can be a challenge but I slap on the AirHawk 2 cushions when the wife and I head out for extended rides and they make all the difference.

I may have other bikes down the road, but this one will always be in my garage...

Bob         Bob, yes, I started out with a 2010.  I think that red/silver combo was the best yet but especially liked the bags.  Sort of a PonyExpress effect.  But the bag on the left really left me wondering what???  what was the purpose of having a large unused space below the bag????  The 2011/2012 bags have about 33% more space but the appearance is just sort of blahhh..  However I do like the locking ability of the 2011/12.  Why can't the MoCo just take what I like and combine it all into an awesome bike???  hehe.  I haven't been back to Sturgis in about 3 years but will stop in next time I go that direction, even if not to Sturgis.  6 trips.  I just got back from 1158 miles from SE Washington to Idaho (Salmon) on a nostalgic ride.  Bike operated flawlessly, even with 66 miles of gravel/rocks.  Scary but the bike held to the road and I stayed in the saddle.  Waiting to see what 2016 will provide for new prospects.  25K just logged on this bike.  Actually closer to 26K now.  Pork.

What are you moving into?  Like me, I never thought I'd see you getting rid of the Convertible.  Keep in touch, and post pics when you get the new ride.  Later.

'12 FLHXSE but technically it was used when I bought it. It had 5k a guy bought it and drove it for 5 months then traded it in. He had a factory matched tour pak installed so I snatched it up.

X3 fellas.

I spent countless money and time to get mine to fit me. Bars, seat mods, pegs, all the comfort things. I stopped into Dubuque Harley to pick through the clearance rack and a young salesman was all over me. "Nice CVO, come take a look at this CVO RG" Me, I'm a street glide kind of guy. "Just come check it out can't hurt" Fine. I go he has me sit on it couldn't even touch the ground with more that my tiptoes. He actually HURT his chances of selling me a bike by showing my this new one lol.

Hi All,
I haven't been here for a couple years.
I still have my 2012 and really enjoy it. It is a very easy bike to handle. However, it's my first Harley and I think I read on this site somewhere that you should never sell your first Harley.
Although, I have acquired a new girlfriend since I've last posted and she is not overly impressed with the ride on longer trips. So my intent is to purchase a new CVO Road Glide if/when they come out with one...preferably an Ultra with all the bells and whistles. But I will never sell Rose.

Just wanted to do a quick update regarding my SEUC8.
I still own it and it has 58K+ miles on it now and still running strong.
I did replace the original lifters with new Feuling lifters earlier this year.

I still have my 2013 SEUC, took a ten state 5700 mile road trip with my buddy this past July. I have 75 years on me and she has 75,000 miles on her and is still running like a top. I did have Feuling lifters and adjustable pushrods installed at 58k as preventative maintenance though. No thoughts of ever selling her.

Well, Not exactly. I actually traded mine in on the 2017 CVO Streetglide back in late '16.
(I now have a '22 CVO RG) When my wife decided she wanted her own bike again we
started to look for my exact same bike. We couldn't track it down but last year we found the same
model and color with only 2,500 miles on it! Now happy to say we own one again!
