Luggage, What do you use?
« on: August 24, 2006, 09:24:00 PM »

I'm looking to get some sort of luggage for MV. I have plenty of room but was looking for a passenger mount that would fit in between the King tour pak and riders backrest. It would simplify transporting when going into hotels and not have to reorganize my saddlebags.

So, what have you used and what do you prefer and why? I saw a side access at HD last week and liked the idea of shelves, but was wondering how it would hold up.

it seems to be holding up well..

I don't have this, but had thought about getting it...

Dresser Backseat Bag by T-Bags.

I do have the Dekker Supreme Bag by T-Bags, but because this is placed on the luggage rack on tourpak you are limited to the weight you can put in here. T-Bags states that the two of these together make a nice combination and I may eventually get it, but haven't had the need for it yet. One thing I like about it, and what you may like is that it has straps so it can be worn as a backpack to carry it back and forth to scooter.

The full dresser has wheels on the bottom so it's easy to just pull like regular luggage. I have this and I agree it works great.

the full dresser fits well with the rider back rest....straps right to it....  it feels like i have been pushed forward a bit riding with it, but im sure that is my head playing tricks...
it does make it a bit of a pain to get into the tour pak so i have to load differently with it on there.

One of the photos showed it (maybe) strapping to a luggage rack on the tour pak.

the full dresser can and does work with either tour pak...  i dont have a luggage rack ....
i strap the lower strap through the quick release stuff for the tour pack ( you could strap it elsewhere, but this is easiest for me) ..  bag guards would also work if i had em... top straps ( bungees also work) are simply for stablizing the bag... they go through the same hole and hook back on the bag D Rings...  and the big honking velcro thingy goes around the back rest or sissy bar..depending on the bike..i  have riddien about 2k miles with it in all kinds of weather.. tricky part..putting the rain cover on BEFORE the rain

We have a full dresser for sale. Used ONE time for four days. On a trip with the Heritage last year when the seeg was down. Now it's in storage in original box. WE WANT TO SELL IT. Anybody interested? Please let me know. It's NEW. Make me an offer I can't refuse! I'll post photo's if you wish.

This thing has enough room for a cross dresser ;D Any takers? [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

I overheard you & Twolane discussing how much room it had. It sounded like the two of you packed everything you needed in it for the trip to Cripple Creek. So I just went by what the experts said  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif];D [smiley=nervous.gif] ;D

Let me talk it over with the boss tomorrow a.m. She's sleeping now. I don't even know what we paid for it. All I know is it was 10% off retail.

We'll give you a fair price though. We'll even throw in Scot's thong's [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]
I'll let you know tomorrow. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Check out Iron Rider Luggage by Dowco. I'm looking into the main bag & Garment bag. www.dowco-inc.com/Accessories_IR.asp?deg=2 It sounds like some good stuff. My dealer is ordering the two for me to check out. Hopefully They'll be in this week. All these bag's strap onto each other for a 5 bag system if needed.

I have the kuryakin I have used on my RKC. With my 'CUSE2 on the way I know that you slide the bag over the driver's backrest but how do you secure it to the seat since the bike doesn't have the grab rail?

Thanks,

We use tour pak liner, 2 saddle bag liners and almost any bag that will fit on the tour pak luggage rack.  I secure the bag with a net.  This set up works for two people traveling for one week.
