Screamin Eagle Gloves
« on: August 30, 2006, 10:33:05 PM »

All this talk of heated gear for Maggie Valley has me checkin out some heavier gloves. Tired of the old Hotfingers ski gloves as they are too damn thick.

Brian, strictly one guy's opinion here but for anything above 50 degrees or so I love these:

http://www.firstgear-usa.com/fgweb.nsf/Products/D8E73E309560C80086257126005D760F?opendocument

Really really flexible, leather in the palm that doesn't bunch up, work in the rain, good length gauntlets, just an all around really great glove for cool to warm weather.

Brian...check these out too....I have a pair of the Deertours and love them.  Best glove of any type I've owned.

TC, got my eyes on these babys. Was wondering if when they get wet does your hands turn black from the dye? I was considering yours in Tan, or these in 2tone. http://www.foxcreekleather.com/128.html

Brian...it's mostly just to show the features on the palm of the glove, though I think they are available like that if you like the look.

JR...I've never had any of the dye come off on my hand, and I've been wearing these(the deertours) for 5 months now, and I mean every single time I get on the bike.  They never get stiff, have extra padding in the places you need it, and to me are not hot at all.  Plus, the little leather strap with the velcro is very easy to use/adjust, and will keep the glove on your hand if you ever did go down.  There's a few "testimonials" on the site, and a pretty good description of the "secrets" of deerskin.  I'm lookin' at the PCI version for the extreme winter months.

The things aren't cheap, but it looks to me like they will last a number of years.  Fox Creek Leather is absolutely the best leather goods you will ever find...period.  I liked my jacket/gloves so much, I orderd a vest and a pair of chaps...thick, but supple leather.  Don't forget to ask for Chippy and get 10 bucks off your order...just tell her you're a member of the CVO site.

Oh...one other advantage is that you still have enough dexterity with them on to "feel" things, get stuff out of your pockets, etc.

A lot of gloves out there are not stitched well enough to hold up under stress, but these will.  The guy who designed them is Lee Parks...most people have heard of him.

Suzanne has a pair of the lined riders gloves and finds them very comfy as well, for those cooler times.

Hey Bro! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

When I was looking at the different gloves I noticed some had color options. I also noticed some say Tan, Black, and I have seen 2Tone, so I believe you can get any of the three depending on style of glove!

What do you think about these gloves? I like em, just need to decide which ones! ;) See Ya, God Bless!

Since we were talking of these (Screamin' Eagle Gloves) I decided to take a look at them, and post a picture for those that may be interested. Below is the description from the MoCo website....

I tried a pair of these on a couple weeks ago, felt good, but didn't like the looks of knuckle protection or the consruction on the gauntlet. But when I saw that orange I thought of only one person that would love it and Yes that was you d00d! ;D I also believe it is a match made in heaven for your jacket! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Good Luck and God Bless!

I was checking out the first gear gloves Don has and did a search to check out best prices and came across these Tour Master ColdTex Motorcycle Gloves. Read the review from April 2002 issue of Motorcycle Cruiser magazine. Gotta give these gloves a shot, for $26.95 it's worth a try! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

What ya think?
