Title: West Coast Trip; a little help on a route
Post by: captain_jeb on April 04, 2010, 11:26:21 AM
Heading to the west coast in a couple weeks and have a 2010 UC rented from Route 66 Riders in Marina Del Ray (Harley Dealership at Glendale only had a couple sportsters left to rent). I Plan on riding to Santa Barbara to visit some friends and others areas along the Pacific Highway. What would be a good scenic route up that way and back other than staying along the Pacific Highway itself at times. Thanks

Santa Barbara and all things north you can't go wrong...Pismo, Cambria, Ragged Point, just for starters. If you go south you will be struck by the urban god of gridlock unless you pick your days and hours carefully.  Doc

 Hi Jeb

Santa monica to Ventura : If it were me, I would take the coast to Oxnard , then ride 101 north to 33 east (toward Ojai)

Ventura to SB : Hwy 150 (back road) is a great way to get into Santa Barbara. (also) hwy 192

Once in SB, hwy 154 (san marcos pass) is very pretty, and you can ride to hwy 1, and go to jalama beach (known for there bugers)  ;D

 Highlites : Dukes  in malibu
               Neptunes net  at county line
               deer lodge  in Ojai
Coldsprings travern  top of san marcos pass

If you need anyother help, just pm me
