Motorcycle storage in the house!
« on: August 06, 2015, 08:14:13 PM »

How many of you have a wife and/or girlfriend who lets you keep your motorcycle(s) in the house?

This is the female part of CVO couple!   :)  We keep our CVO and Softail in the house, during the winter months.

Not in the house but i park several different bikes(  one at a time) every day in my office. Ride to work and park at work. No joke i sublet part of my office to a female lawyer She hears me coming down the street and will open my double doors and put my curb ramp in place.

I'd like to know how you keep your coffee on your desk like that.

there was a time - for a few years - that I kept the Fatboy in the master bed room during the winters. That ended when Paula an I got married and combined households into one --- with a proper two car one car and three bike garage  :D

But she won't let me install sliding doors leading to the back deck/porch.....

The '99 Softail has lived in the front room for the winter since I bought it. Room is more like a library. Two sheets of plywood on the carpet, and all annual maintanence gets done inside. Wife is fine with this arrangement, but I can't start it inside anymore. Compromise.        JoeS

We removed the sliding door wall, to bring the bikes in last winter.  It was nice.  We were able to use the lift, and do some modifications to the CVO.

We did start the bikes, but opened the door wall, and didn't leave them running for very long.

Wow - that's great CVO Couple... Been many years since I had a bike in the house. I do believe it warrants a nice warm spot at home though. Even if I could get a bike physically into the house I don't think it would be well received by my better half - we've had more than one 'discussion' about telescopes and camera equipment around the house over the years. Like most things we've managed a compromise - don't think I'll push the envelop on the bike though.

Those were the days, huh Kiro.  I remember the days (late 60s, early 70s) when, if you owned a Harley it was more common to find it in the house, apt. living room than in a garage.....at least for those I knew back then.  Now it's been a lot of years since I've seen one in the living room.

But I could see why that might still be a necessity in the snow parts of the country.

Andy parks his bikes in the office because he has so many motorcycles (and other vehicles) that he's got them scattered all over town.....a number of them at his home, at his office, at his condos, etc.  That's a problem I've never experienced. :P

Kiro, that's a nice setup.  What the hell do you look at?  Post pics if you can.

Indeed JC - I think most riders I knew kept bikes in their living quarters in the winter back then for storage or to work on them. They weren't close in weight or size compared to our CVO's though - good luck getting one of those up a flight or more of stairs...

Indenial - Although not doing much lately, I was more involved with astroimaging than observing. The 300mm scope in the left image is an astrograph, used with a camera, not as a visual instrument. Of course whatever the telescope is viewing and a camera is recording can be observed on a computer monitor. Not certain if I can post my website on the forum or not, but there's a link to my personal site in my profile with astronomy and others subjects that you can check out. PM me if you have any questions.

I love the telescopes!  Very cool!  Do you have a full picture of the bike, that's metallic orange?  I love that color!  Thanks guys, for the feed back!   ;D
