They supposedly do that in NYC since Guillani's Welfare reform. That's why so many deadbeats moved out of town! They're supposed to get tested and if healthy are supposed to work under the City's Workfare program. I'm all for helping out when you're truly down. But the deadbeats who take advantage of the system have got to go! I think they all moved to Atlanta. ::) Sorry! ;) Hoist! 8-)

I agree.  The sad thing is most of them in WV are on perscription medications, like Oxycontin, Lortab, Xanax, and the like.  Then, there's the ones on Methadone Maintenance.  What a mess!  :'( Later--HUBBARD

Yep Hubbard.........we call those "prescription addicts".  The only thing is, the human body doesn't know the difference between a legal drug and an illegal drug.......they're all still addicts and one isn't any better than the other. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

That will never change as long as we have a liberal congress (read that however you like, I don't want to get into a partisan political discussion), both state and federal, influential in tax dollar distribution
I agree whole heartedly with the gentleman from Oregon.  In fact, I'd take it a step farther and insist that any able bodied person drawing welfare must provide community service to stay on the dole.   [smiley=soapbox.gif]
