Weighing your bike
« on: September 28, 2006, 10:10:35 PM »

The sales brochure for my Frontier originally listed weight as 720 wet but has now changed to 730.

Any recommendations on where I could take it to be weighed.

With that 120 I'm thinking it even heavier than the 730.

Check with a local gravel pit, or recycling center that accepts tard waste, trees, and such. They usually have scales for incoming or outgoing truckloads or trailers full of sand or junk at junkyards. They are usually like $5, a truckstop usually has a scale and should be about 7.50.

Ok, here goes my last chance of the day at redemption for any thread I've led astray

Go to the nearest shipping office of any moving company. They have yard scales you can drive onto.

I use Allied Van Lines in my town. Seems like they charge me $7 or something like that.

Hey Spiderman

Any place that takes scrap metal in your area should be able to accomodate this...they weigh the truck when you come in, and then when you leave...don't know about how accurate it would be, but probably pretty close.

Chip, many of the larger truck stops have scales, too.  Let us know what it is, when you get it done.  When up in Reno last week, I was able to sit on #2 of the Frontier model but it has a 103" motor.......I thought it weighed less than my SEEG, by quite a bit. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]
