Title: First 100 miles-SESG2
Post by: Sierramadre on August 13, 2010, 08:59:39 AM
I picked up the bike after work and drove it to the local 'bike night' about a 35 mile ride, and took a roundabout way home so I clocked about 120 miles before I pulled into my garage.  I have to say that overall, its pretty impressive.

Maybe the most impressive thing to me has been the improved ride and suspension.  I think its the combination of the adjustable hydraulic rear shocks and an extremely comfortable seat.  I live in Michigan where the roads are a disaster and the bike handled all of the crummy pavement beautifully.  I set the rear suspension at the dealership and it made a huge difference.

The iPod is just plain cool.  I downloaded all of my music and playlists and it worked perfectly.  The overall sound system is a major upgrade.  I'm not an audiophile but at highway speed you could hear the music clearly and without distortion.

The 7" wind deflector actually works and looks good in the process.  This is my 4th CVO and it may be the first time I haven't felt the need to replace the seat or the windshield...shocking.

As for the engine and drivetrain, I had a base map installed with my upgraded exhaust and the 110 motor really had plenty of snap and seemed very strong, even with me taking it easy during the break in miles.  One thing I was pleased about was the valve train noise on this particular bike was minimal.  My last CVO 110 clattered like a diesel.

You sure that 110" on your last bike was a gas engine?

got our SESG2 yesterday and i have to agree with the OP.  matter of fact......this bike handles and rides so well right outta the box that it makes me sick how much $$$$ i spent on our 07' with all the upgrades.  don't think i could ever own anything else!

i noticed yesterday while riding home from work the Valvetrain is sure chattering an awful lot on ours.  i'm a little concerned but will have it torn apart here shortly for some headwork and cams.

but yeah.....it's like bolts bouncing around under the rocker boxes.... >:(
