Just got off the phone with Susie, Matt's lovely wife. He is in a lot of pain from the surgery itself and unable to get comfortable, but things went well enough that he will be coming home in the morning as scheduled. As to how the surgery went, my understanding is that until he's healed a bit from the incision and intrusion into such a sensitive area it's difficult to tell. It sounds like the surgeon was guardedly optimistic. The fact that he's in pain is at least to me good news in that no nerves were severed and the fact that he's moving around in bed trying to find a comfortable position is more good news in that vein. I hate to see my bro suffer, but if there's a light at the end of the tunnel then it's for good. Not sure what his state is gonna be tomorrow, so if he hasn't posted something tomorrow night, I will. Thanks to everyone who's posted on the thread, I know it means a lot to Brother Beags.

B B

BB,
Please pass on that we're glad to hear that the operation appeared to be successful and hope that he has a speedy and complete recovery.
Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,

BB,
Hope Matt's pain subsides soon, but like you said, most of the signs are good ones.  He's complaining, moving and can feel everything!  Give him our best and let him know we're thinking about him.

Just got off the phone with Beags. They're keeping him another night in the hospital. He's got some swelling that they are treating with anti-inflamatory drugs before they send him home. He sounded doped to the max, but in good spirits. His roomy just had a knee replacement, so Beags obviously has some experience with that being my major domo while I was healing. I'll post something tomorrow when he gets home.

Glad he's on a trip, that should help with the pain for a few days.  Keep us informed.

Hope he has a speedy recovery.   Back pain sucks, I have it every day.  The only problem with the "good" drugs is it's hard to find the bike, let alone ride it.   ;)

Matt is not well. He is still in the hospital. He can move his legs and has feeling everywhere, but cannot bear any weight on his legs. I just talked to him on the phone and he is alert and didn't sound too bad, but obviously is worried. He is scheduled for an MRI in the morning so the Surgeon can hopefully see what the problem is.
