Windshield Pouch from HD now available for RG's
« on: September 03, 2015, 10:19:49 AM »

In case you didn't see this new accessories addition on the Harley website, this new pouch is available for new Road Glides for a whopping $155.  For that money, I wish they'd made it a tad bigger.  I'd want to see it in person before pulling the plug, though.

Something to think about I suppose for cell phones, etc...

Dealer tried to sell me one. Not putting that in my painted dash although I wish I had more storage up front.

Thought about that too, Mike.  I like seeing that blue dash up there too much to cover it up iwht somethings that likely to scratch it over time..

I have also considered a small leather rectangular pouch for the rear cover of the left lower, but can't find one I can live with.

Do not think I would like that on my bike.  Would have to see it installed on another bike.  Then I also doubt it would work with my Klock Werks windshield.

I thought that would be one of the things I would miss after trading my 12 batwing. But I don't the two glove boxes are great and it eliminates the need for the pouch. Plus its easier to keep the winsheild clean without the pouch in the way.

Agreed.
The more I look at that HD thingy, the less interested I am in it.

I hardly ever ride with my wallet in my rear pocket any more.  My chiro and massage therapist told me that would be very hard on my body to do, especially since I have chronic sacro-illiac pain from an earlier bike accident.

I was looking for a pouch kinda like the one below that would hold my cell, my wallet, and maybe my keys, or one other small item, and I have thought about mounting it on the rear cover of the left lower fairing.  But I've given up on that idea and now keep my phone in the tour pak plugged up to a usb charger back there, and then I put my wallet and keys in the left side fairing pocket.  They're always handy there.

Note the marketing picture shows a base RG.  Not sure what that pouch would do to paint and probably don't want to know.  I seem to have plenty of storage.  If you really want more, how about:

I agree with everyone that I would be too concerned with
My paint to use the pouch. I find that the two fairing compartments are plenty for me.

I like it. It reduces glare which is a plus. I too ran little pouches on my batwing and missed them when I switched to a sharknose. The pockets don't hold a great deal but it works for me.

Cheers Tom

Ugly, ruins the look of the nicely designed & painted dash top.

I am sur if you get some of the 3m clear protector and put it on the dash first you won't have any scratches.

I have this. My wife fills it with all her stuff so I don't get to use it. She likes it tho.
