Great to finally meet the NorCal Krew and some of the SoCal chapter. I wish I could have stayed for Yosemite. See you on the next ride.

Marty and I went over the Grapevine about 1 hour before this happened on Saturday:

CHP Officer Among 3 Injured in a Runaway 18-wheeler Truck Collision

A runaway truck speeding out of control through the Grapevine area of Interstate 5 hit a California Highway Patrol cruiser trying to clear its path Saturday, triggering a three-vehicle collision that sent all three drivers to the hospital.

The identity of the 35-year-old CHP officer from Bakersfield, who suffered what were reported to be moderate injuries, was not being released Sunday, according to Officer Kirk Arnold, who said no arrests had been made. The accident is said to have been caused by an SUV driver's failure to follow the CHP officer's directions to move out of the way.

The officer's Crown Victoria patrol car was hit from the rear by a Freightliner truck moving at 85 miles per hour. The cruiser then crashed into a Honda Pilot sport-utility vehicle before ricocheting back into the truck's path, where it was hit again, according to a CHP report. The cruiser came to a stop after hitting the center divider wall.

The truck, driven by 47-year-old Guillermo Martinez of Hialeah, Fla., sped on for another mile before overturning on the right shoulder of the highway, just south of the California Aqueduct.

The driver of the Honda, 66-year-old Albert Ash, the truck driver and the CHP officer were taken to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, Officer Patrick Etchebarne said in a report on the incident, which occurred at 8:45 a.m. Saturday.
Emergency crews and investigators kept the freeway's northbound lanes blocked for more than three hours, causing traffic to back up for miles on the first day of the holiday weekend.

On a lighter note, THANK YOU ALL FOR THE FANTASTIC WEEKEND!  I appreciate each and every one of you.

Man, I sure missed out on what looked to be a helluva great time. Well, two parts of me were there, spirit and pass! Believe me as I went through both days I was thinking about the parts of the ride. Some weekends you can't find a damn thing to do and others you have umpteen things to keep you un-straddled.

I recognized the Ranger at Glacier Point.

Sherry, Andy's content of his character :huepfenjump3: showing the size of the thermos is as important as the character of it's contents.

Does John really live in Austin? :nixweiss:

Ernie and Helena???? Ernie if you ever need a good lookout? :coolblue:

Michael (DimestoreMOTO) in boots and shorts on a pony ride. :confused5: You guys encourage him just a bit much. :confused5: Could be more controllable if he changed his handle to XanaxMOTO.

Congrats on gettin time away Jim, you deserved it! :cherry:

Marty, and Jimmy great you made it up. :orange:

Russ and Vivian hard ridin Hubby and Wife.

Rich, next time.

Terrie and JC see you Sat.

Gotta connect with Blaze for that Sierra's East Side connection. Lots of ridin over there.

JohnO's in the area, gotta cross paths sooner or later.

Chris and Anne lookin good like your pics. :)

Very Nice Photo's!!
A group of us will be out there in late August.
We will be staying at Yosemite Nat. Park Aug. 28-29th.
Ride starting in Sacramento, ending for me in Sedona,. AZ.
Just curious what your temperatures were while in Yosemite?

and the smokey.....
I like that pad you have on your KTP, did you have that made at Corbin? If so what is the Part number? I have the same TP and don't like the full pad with the armrests, looks funny without the rear speakers IMO, also what did you use to plug the holes for the armrests?

Yes, it's Corbin but I'm not sure of the part number (I have a number of Corbin receipts).  You can call them and ask them for the part number for the back rest pad used for the tour pack in the solo position.

Oh, because I switch back and forth from solo to dual, I just put chrome acorn nuts and bolts in the holes when it's in the solo position.
