Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!

So I've been doing some research for replacing the crap speakers for my Sena 20S Evo that came with my 2018 CVORG. I have an HJC modular helmet that actually works really well for it's price point that my system is installed in. Everything works really well but even after setting the speakers up properly to my ears the sound quality is still pretty lackluster.
I will ad that for me I only use my modular helmet with bluetooth speaker system during the cold weather, otherwise I use a half helmet and enjoy the speakers on the bike.
What appears to be the best replacement speaker system on the market, after looking at and listening to the competition is this;

I am hard of hearing and dont use a faceshield on my helmet so have always had major issues hearing calls (all I use my helmet speakers for). I tried multiple speakers until getting the Iasus speakers with their micro amp. works perfect now. have put about 30,000 miles on them and Highly recommend

Curious as to how these compare with the Sena speakers that come with the bike WITHOUT the micro amp?
And, how long can you operate them all on one charge?
I use mine mostly for the music and would like the headset to last 8-10 hrs

You can also plug it into your 12v power supply (cigarette lighter) with an adapter for your usb cord and charge it while you're riding if need be. You can also get an audible signal through your Sena to check your charge.

The Sena will not operate while charging, already tried that, may as well just put it in the tour pack.

Good to know, never needed to recharge on the road. An ASSumption on my part.

The Sena is fine on local rides.  However when we take trips, the charge never lasts the day unless its a very short day.  On our way west we ride 500 plus miles a day. 

It has never lasted the 12 plus hours Harley and Sena both claim it will.  They say they have been working on the issue.  But 7 to 8 hours is the best its ever done for me.  That is un-acceptable for me.

Thus my concern with the replacement speakers. Would it shorten my battery life and end up just a few hours of use?
It’s difficult for me to spend the money, not like them and with a poor return policy be stuck with something I can’t use.

My question would be has anyone ever tried pairing another sena headset for the rider and passenger so after say 6 hours just turn the first one off and plug in a second set and keep riding. I would want this to work without having to unpair the first set and pair the second set every time, just unplug one and plug the second one in and keep riding. I figure someone on this site has the answer.

Never thought about that!
My bike came with 2 and I only use the one.
I’ll have to play around with that and swap one on the charger while I use the other.
Sounds too good to be true! LOL

I know you can bluetooth one as a rider and one as a passenger as that is how ours is set up, I could use hers when she is not riding along but in order to adjust volume I’m thinking I would have to use back seat controls with is impossible to stay safe. Try pairing the rider twice, just make sure to turn the first one is turned off while pairing the second one.

my sena 30k has a fast charge feature that will give you 6 hrs of talk time for a 20 minute charge. 

haven't had to do it yet, but i figure that when we stop for lunch, i'll plug it in to my 'instaboost lithium booster' and keep it locked in the saddlebag while we eat.  maybe have to get an external battery charge like you use for your cell phone so i have a second one for the wife's headset.  can be recharging that overnight at the hotel, or on the instaboost while driving down the road.

I played around a little trying to pair both my headsets as driver, get a error message.
If I delete the first driver Sena then I can use the other as the driver one, I’m guessing they won’t allow 2 two units to be paired with the bike at the same time, you must use one as driver and one as passenger.
If anyone has found a “workaround “ please share.

Why couldn’t you pair the second one as passenger and use it when the driver’s dies?

You can pair it as a passenger but you will have to realize the volume and the mode controls would have to be controlled from the controls on the right rear speaker, the only control that would work would be the push to talk control on the right for the cb and squelch.

I can pair it to my phone and forgot CarPlay and the gts system completely I guess.
That’s what I use on my non-radio equipped bikes.

Is that the Sena 20 or the new Sena 30? We have the Sena 20 and both mine and my BSR have experienced about 10 to 10.5 hours of use counting turning them off for a 20 to 30 minute lunch break and short gas break stops. I use mine for radio, intercom, and CB use when riding with our HOG group. She only uses hers for intercom, doesn’t listen to music and surprising hers usually goes dead first. We get three warnings of low battery from the headset and then it just dies.

I use mine for 99% music, Pandora and Amazon, some text messages, rare phone call, all using CarPlay
Usually average 4-6 hours till it goes dead. Not sure better speakers are worth it at this point.

Yes, we have the 20s EVO but this year they have a 30s EVO that comes with the purchase of a new 2020 Harley Davidson CVO. You only get one headset this year instead of the two headsets that we always got in the past. Every year Harley raises the price and gives you less on the purchase of a new CVO and only one key fob this year. Just wandering if the 30s EVO will have a longer battery life, the advantage of the 30 is you can connect more riders when doing group riding I believe. We have never used that feature as we still use CB for group riding.

2 key fobs came with my 2020 CVO Limited. I know the non CVO bikes only came with 1 key fob and no heel shifter, trunk and saddlebag luggage bags, etc. I'm probably on my last bike, though I've said that about the 2014, then the 2017, but this may well be my last Harley. Be a shame after all these decades.
