« on: November 16, 2005, 03:57:29 PM »

Anyone using the 11.5 or 11 inch 440 IA's..??

I've got the 12 inch HD, but was wondering about maybe going just a little lower.....

I think I'm after a trade here...

Ron, you may want to talk with DJW, first.  He has the 11.0 or 11.5, can't remember which, on his bike and says he doesn't like the ride real well.  Then again, maybe he'd be just the one to trade you. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Yeah, 'er 'uh, phattey,
  I'm using the 11.5 440's.  Upon correct setting, finally, I am pleased.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] Later--HUBBARD

Hubbard...are the 11.5's you have the HD or regular..???

I guess they do set the bike down a little lower..than the 12"....But is it a full half inch difference..??

I don't know if I've seen your bike...to see how low it appears compared to the 12"...

Ron,
Hubbards was the trailer that looked nicer and cleaner on the inside than most surgical suites.  It had the wardrobe hanging up front with jackets (neatly pressed) for all seasons.  The only thing more spotless and more well maintained than the trailer itself was the black bagger inside of it.

I think Maggie Valley was pre-440s for HUBBARD.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, 103tHunDer,
That's correct, 103.  It had the Harley Lo-Profile (12") air shocks on it then.  Later--HUBBARD

Yeah, 'er 'uh, phattey,
They're the HD's.  They dropped it more than 1/2".  Otis measured mine from th Tour-Pak to the ground, as compared to an Electra Glide Classic, which had stock air shocks.  Maudie was 2 1/2" lower!  You can see a picture of her under the Pictures thread, page 4, Topic, West(By God) trip to Bristol.  Later--HUBBARD

I used the 11" 440's as I wanted to drop the bike an additional 1" in the rear to match the 1" drop in the forks with Progressive springs.  Like the look, ride and handling.

BLm777...

Did you have to adjust drive belt or other things after going an inch lower..??

What is the Progressive front spring drop kit number or reference number..?? I think you've got the setup I'm wanting to do...

Do you ride 2up often on your lowered setup..?? I thought you're wife (isn't her name Wendy..??) have her own scoot..??

Phattey...No, adjustment not necessary to the drive belt since dropping front and rear does not effect the horizontal plane of the bike.  I'll need to dig to find the invoice from Progressive on the fork springs.  If I can't locate them, their customer service will have the numbers for the springs and emulators if you describe your model and request to drop and inch.  On riding 2up...I hate to say never, but never.  My far better half much prefers to ride her own scoot and avoid my unannouced flashbacks to run WFO.
