PC Map Question
« on: August 25, 2006, 11:24:55 AM »

I just added the SuperTrapp SE slipons and also have the SE stage 1. I downloaded the 103, Arlen Ness ac, V&H slipon map for the PC website, which was the closest one I could find. Do you think this is close enough? Does anyone have a 103, Stage 1, SuperTrapp SE map?  Thx, kr

You should be in the neighborhood with that map. It is always good to have your bike dyno tuned after you make these mods.

Close ....yes, but as DC stated get your bike to a good dyno tuner. My experience with the maps from the PC website is that they are close, never has any been Really close. The changes are very apparent when you see the before and after printouts.

IMHO - the "canned" maps available from Power Commander or any of the other on-line sources will never be any closer to optimum than the original H-D map was.  Stock bikes with identical maps can and do run very differently from each other, due to variations in the parts which make up the EFI system.  The same will be true with any "canned" map which was made by running one bike on a dyno.  The map should be close enough to prevent damage, but the odds of it being optimized for your particular bike are slim.
