I agree, Colorado is a beautiful place to ride. I rode thru there a couple of years ago.

BUT IT WASN'T 10 DEGREES OUT. I did get to take a THREE hour ride yesterday, 41.4 degrees not bad. Half hour to the bar in Hannibal half hour back. I guess its all in how you count.

How as the road, I have never ridden up Pikes Peak, was there a lot of washboard?

It's been awhile since I've been up it, but it was in fine shape for two wheels.  Minimal washboarding.  If I were to ride to the top and had a choice, I'd try to go after there had been some moisture from the skies.  It can be one dust bowl of a ride.

Talon,

When I rode up it was on the way home from Sturgis. As I remember the road was pretty good, it was the visibility that was the scare factor, (fog, aka, clouds). I would definitly do it again. Maybe this year as will come home or go to Sturgis that way.

YA WANNA GO?

Awesome scenery& great pics! I definitely need to ride out that way. Repeating an earlier posed question, how long is your driveway? As for riding in snow, I haven't done that since I got rid of the '83 Midnight Virago.

something you need to do at least once

Well, Ive done it once, and haven't been in a hurry to go back. It was back in the 80's and I was riding a goldwing and pulling a trailer. When we stopped at the guard shack, the lady asked me what I was going to do with the trailer. I said I guessed I was going to pull it up the hill. Duh, 26 years old and stupid. Thankfully she advised me to leave it at the bottom. As we made our ascent, it wasn't too bad. but it was late in the day and dry and the road got worse as we went up. By the time we made the top, I was scared and dreading the ride down. All the cars and motorhomes, etc had made soup of the road conditions that day. The only saving grace for us was we were the last ones allowed to head up, so on the way down, we knew we could go a little wide if needed. I've been back to Colorado many times since, but just drive right on by Pikes Peak.  ;D
