56FLE makes a pit stop in Bellingham
« on: August 19, 2008, 08:49:35 PM »

John got to Bellingham today in time for lunch and then he headed south to our house in Lake Stevens.

John and I had a great lunch at Anthony's Homeport a seafood and chowder place.

What an amazing trip he is on, I know he is looking forward to chronicling it when he gets home so I won't go into detail, but tomorrow we are planning to do the North Cascades Highway and then south to Roslyn, WA for the night at our other place.

Tonight it'll be steaks on the bbq and a few drinks while Cindy and I enjoy John's tale of adventure.

Roger is a great host with a very nice Casa. The ride thru the North Cascade National Park and around the area was fantasic.

Roge and I rode 330 miles today, looked like rain all day but only really got rained on the last 15 miles of the trip. Rain what rain but Roger is ready for it.

Roger, looks like we need to get the rain gear on again, if we put it on maybe it will keep the rain away.

Wow, gorgeous pictures of what in my mind, is even more gorgeous in person.  Every time I see pictures of big mountains, I remember driving to Nelson.  Every mile I felt I was getting smaller and smaller.

Rog, you should have sprung for some Leonetti!!

Leonetti is mostly at the other house, but why waste it after three Crown Royals. ::)

We had a nice Kiona cab at Spacone's in Cle Elum last night.

If you haven't stopped there you should, great Italian food, John had a killer seafood fettuccine and I had a lamb shank with fettuccine on the side.  Whatever you do get fettuccine :2vrolijk_21:

John just headed out, I'll have a couple pics tonight.

He is having a bit of an issue with his compression release popping off.  He had the gasket part of the service action, but still needs the rest of it.

He'll stop in Yakima and see what they think and then he's working over Mt Rainier, Mt St Hellens and down toward the Magoo's and Rooster's.  Hopefully they'll make contact.

We had a great time and our ride was great, avoided most of the rain in the area until the last 20 miles to the mountain house late in the day.

Anyone that wants to reach John as he heads down the coast to Sacramento PM me for his contact info.
