Touch up paint
« on: November 01, 2010, 01:44:33 PM »

I have a 2011 SESG in Autumn Haze/Antique Gunstock that recently got a rock to the front fender and chipped off the paint to the primer.  Can a touch up paint be purchased from harley or do I need to buy a new fender. For anyone who is wondering the paint and clearcoat is really thick on these bikes.  I contacted my dealer but they have not gotten back to me yet so just wondering what to do.

I got a touch up set from my dealer. It had the orange, black, and silver colors in it for my bike. It did not have the clear. It was $58 for the three colors (kit price, not available separately) and the clear was $12.

Thanks for the reply David.  Glad to know that the three colors are available.  Just spoke to dealer and they are having trouble finding the part number for the paints.  Anyone know what the part numbers are for the Autumn Haze/Antique Gunstock color combo?

Its a Tri Color paint there is a member on the site that I just sent my filler panels to who has experience with CVO painting. He was recommended to me by mambers from Europe who have used him.

Look up Volski in the member directory. Also Gunslinger Customs used to be the painters of the CVO bikes for Harley and they will do repaints too.

Unless you are a paint master and have patience ( I have one with out the latter) then it's going to look like a barnicle on a boat.  Your buddies may say it looks ok, but if your someone who cannot stand imperfection then there's only one way:

I highly recommend Volski and for what is your pride and joy - have it painted first time right even when it cost 6 plus times more than a paint kit.   JMO mind

Cheers
