Post by: Jbbrown73 on February 22, 2018, 09:05:14 PM
I have a 7 1/2' X 14' tandem axle enclosed trailer I use to haul bikes and various other things. I has ST205/75/R15 tires on it. It's time for new tires and I'm looking for recommendations. GO!!!..............

Not sure how much you really use the trailer so my theory may not apply for you, but I generally buy the cheapest trailer tire thst I can find because they typically will dry rot on me before I ever get the titties wore off them

Goodyear just brought out the new Endurance Trailer Tire this year that is made in USA.  I just finished putting them on my same size trailer as yours.  Pulled 1,200 miles to Florida and really liked them.  They are getting very high ratings.

The Goodyear Endurance is a durable trailer tire that provides towing stability, heat resistance, and high load carrying capacity for trailers, toy haulers, and RVs. It features a tough internal construction and specialized inner liner for load stability and resistance to air loss. The hardworking Goodyear Endurance has Durawall® technology for resistance to cuts and punctures. Whether it’s for work or play, the Goodyear Endurance trailer tire is designed so you can tow with confidence.

I only run the Maxxis M8008 on my trailers.  Google them and you will find them as a top-of-the-line option on campers, where blowouts can cause significant damage.  Much better than the China bombs out there.

I have found ebay to be a good source for them.  Actually just bought 5 from this seller and the tires are recent manufacture date, load range D:

May want to go on line with Big O tires. They had a Presidents sale going with rebates, your tires may be part of that sale.

Hercules 8 or 10 ply.   I was blowing tires all the time.   Since going to Hercules both with and without nitrogen 2 trailers I have not had a blow out since changing to these.

Goodyear Endurance. Discount Tire and Tire Rack both have decent prices.

Goodyear Endurance is the only America "made" ST (trailer) tire.  Other ST tires under an American brand but they're all made in Asian countries.  Goodyear Endurance has quickly moved to the top in all the trailer and 5th wheel forums.

Goodyear G-614 or G-114 trailer tires are American made.

I run the Goodyear LT235/85R16 Load Range G (G614) on my 34' gooseneck.  Note they are LT and not ST tires.  They are awesome and very heavy duty.  They are not cheap cost (+$300/each) or quality wise.

I'm surprised Goodyear hasn't come up with another designation for the G-614. The LT is synonymous with Light Truck and they are not truck tires.

The made in America Endurance and my prior expeierence with made in America Goodyear tires would have me spend the extra 50% to get the Endurance over the Chinese made tires.

The Goodyear G614 is what I have on my 5th wheel....very, very pricey!  But they are made in Asia also.  According to Goodyear, they're made to Goodyear's specifications and requirements.  At $3,200 for seven tires, I hope that means something.   :nixweiss:

I have never seen a GY Goodyear Unisteel G614 RST listed as being made anywhere other then the US.

The GY USA made tires have the best warranty, but more importantly excellent customer service with damage caused form a blow out. Everyone I know that has had G-614 blowouts or G-114 (AFAIK, we are the only ones with a documented blowout) has been made whole by the Goodyear property damage division.

Goodyear G-114 17.5" tires.
We had a blowout 2+ years ago, total claim which included replacing all 5 tires, a wheel, body damage and some ancillary parts came out over $6300. Once all my paperwork was together there were a couple of back and forth emails and then I received a check for the full amount.

And the G-114's are really pricey. But they wear great, have a 75 mph speed rating and Goodyear stands behind them.
