Need to move handlebars rearward about 2"
« on: June 19, 2006, 07:27:59 AM »

Any ideas?  2002 FXDWG3, long story short, my riding position entails my reaching for the bars a bit, and I'd like to move them back about 2".  Saw PN 56296-05 (p198 in the 2006 accessories catalog)....   are there any other reasonable options?  Would prefer to maintain the stock handlebars and cables -- just want to bring them back a bit.  Thanks.

Don't know about your FXDWG3, but I was able to keep my stock bars on my flstn by changing the risers to 2" taller......it moved the bars up and back just enough to  eliminate the reach problem. The stock cables just managed to fit.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] spyder

I loosend my clamp and rotated my bars back about 2" and snugged them up, it made a world of difference and didn't cost anything but time.

uh, yeah, I've already done that.  I need to move them back at least another 2".  I've ordered the Harley riser mentioned in my original post, and will post a picture or two when installed.
